Need more convincing? Here’s more about the book:

At 35, travel writer Annalise is fed up with insensitive comments about being left on the shelf. It’s not as if she doesn’t want a man, but her busy career doesn’t leave her much time for relationships. Sexy liaisons with passing acquaintances give Annalise physical satisfaction, but she needs more than that. She wants a man who will satisfy her mind as well as her body. But where will she find someone like that? It seems Annalise may be in luck when a new member of staff starts working in the bookshop at the airport she regularly travels through. Damien appears to tick all the boxes; he’s gorgeous, funny and intelligent, and he shares Annalise’s love of books and travel. The trouble is, Damien’s shy and Annalise is terrified of rejection. Can they overcome their fears and admit their feelings, or are they doomed to remain on the shelf?

And a saucy excerpt to get you going…

Pushing the ‘on’ button, Annalise moved the vibrator down between her parted legs and eased it inside her eager pussy. As the ears of the Rampant Rabbit slid into position on her clit, she groaned with pleasure and rolled her hips, desperate to get more delicious friction. Then she pressed another button on the toy’s control panel to ramp up the power another notch. As much as she’d prefer a slower build-up to her orgasm, she just didn’t have the time. She had to leave for the airport in a couple of hours, and she hadn’t even packed her case. A quick knee-trembler would have to suffice.

As the vibrator buzzed away between her thighs, Annalise closed her eyes and tried to empty her mind of anything but the pleasure she was experiencing. After a brief flirtation with the thought that she’d much prefer a hot man between her legs bringing her to orgasm, Annalise simply enjoyed the feeling of her impending climax. The busily-vibrating bunny ears pressed tightly against her sensitive flesh soon had her pussy fluttering. Then, without warning, Annalise was quickly yanked onto her pleasure plateau and immediately pushed off, leaving her writhing and shouting on the bed as a powerful orgasm overtook her body.

Annalise arched her back as waves of pleasure crashed over her, and her cunt clenched and grabbed at the toy buried deep inside. Her swollen clit throbbed, quickly becoming too sensitive for the unrelenting stimulation from the vibrator. Switching it off and pulling out, Annalise dropped the toy onto the mattress by her side and gave a satisfied moan as she rode out the remainder of her climax. Finally, when the twitches and spasms had abated and her heart rate and breathing were almost back to normal, Annalise grabbed the Rabbit and rolled across to the side of her bed where the toy box was kept. She made short but thorough work of cleaning it, then reluctantly put it in its case, popped it into the small bedside cupboard and shut the door.

Annalise hated leaving her favourite toy behind when she went away, but she just wasn’t brave enough to take it with her. She usually only took carry-on luggage, and the very thought of the distinctive shape of the Rampant Rabbit popping up on the screen of the airport scanners made her shudder. It would be bad enough for the staff to see it on their monitors, knowing what it was and giving her knowing looks; imagine what would happen if they decided to check inside her bags! She would want to curl up and die of embarrassment, she just knew it.

No, it was much better off staying here. She could make do with her right hand for a few days. Even better, she might even meet someone. Annalise smiled. She’d had some pretty steamy encounters on her travels. The desk clerk in Dubai, the gym manager in Turkey, the waiter in Corfu…

Annalise shook herself. This wasn’t the time to let her mind wander down that path and get herself all worked up. She had to go and get ready now. There’d be plenty of time for daydreaming later, when she was in long and boring queues, and on the flight.

So go on, what are you waiting for? Bag your copy quick, while it’s FREE! And if you like it, be sure to leave a review for others to read.

Keith Brighouse ~ Politics and Sex

We’re thrilled to welcome British author Keith Brighouse to our pages today, here to talk about his new release, The Peep Show!

Politics And Sex

There was a time when sex and politics was strictly a ‘no no’, it just didn’t happen. Politicians were married to asexual wives who had children through immaculate conception and the odd politician who had a beautiful wife, the wife was so beautiful, one couldn’t imagine the politician straying into someone else’s bed. In a time before the communications revolution, secrets on the whole, could be kept in-house, and while politicians had sex, in theory at least, it was just impossible to imagine it.

How things have changed, such is the low public opinion of politicians, we expect them to spend half their lives with their trousers around their ankles. Now it isn’t so much a question of whether they’re having sex, but what type of sex are they having? And how taboo is it? A simple sexual affair no longer means the end of a politician’s career, in Britain at least, it all depends on the circumstances. A politician who never pontificates on moral matters, and never spouts on the sanctity of marriage, will on the whole, have no career damage if his (I say his, as it is almost always a man) affairs are made public in the tabloid.

In Britain we have had a whole raft of politicians being exposed as philanderers over the last twenty years with no negative impact on their careers. It is the type of affair and its context that matters, not the actual act itself. Politicians who have beautiful wives are thought to be more likely to stray, after all, they have the gift of attracting beautiful women, and for politicians to have such a gift, one expects them to be underhanded enough to use it. There simply have been too many revelations in our modern age where secrets are almost impossible to keep. One Conservative government minister, the aristocratic Alan Clark, not only bedded another man’s wife but his two daughters too. Ex-Prime Minister John Major had a four year affair with ex-Minister and MP, Edwina Currie, much to the amusement of the British nation. We also now have openly gay government ministers who are quite happy to be seen with their lovers in public and not an eye-brow is raised. It wasn’t so long ago a mere rumour of being gay, never mind the brazen act of being openly gay and having a lover, would have, if not immediately ended a political career, would have sent it into a nosedive from which it would have never recovered.

According to English poet Philip Larkin, Sex began in 1963/ Between Lady Chatterley’s Lover/ and the Beatles first LP. Well not exactly. In British politics it was 1961 when the seeds of the Profumo  Affair took root, when John Profumo, the British Minister of State for War had an affair with a beautiful young woman, Christine Keeler, who the press labeled a call girl, who was also having an affair with a Russian spy at the time. It led to an almost immediate end of the Minister’s career, who had lied in Parliament to keep the affair secret. It was a sexual scandal which played a major part in the then Conservative government losing the following election. It was a sex scandal in a more puritanical age when politicians were expected to be honest (how naïve!), moral (what a laugh!) and with all the integrity of your local bank manager (once you have stopped laughing, I’ll carry on). Now, in a more cynical age, all politicians are tainted and no one expects them to be honest and moral, and integrity belongs to the naïve past. However, such a view has had the positive affect of allowing politicians to have a sex life, as long as their ‘willy waving’ is kept within acceptable boundaries.

George, the politician in my story ThePeepShow doesn’t just break one taboo but several. His story is based on a story I was told about by an actual owner of a London peep show, and the person who told me vowed it was true, though I remain skeptical. I have made fictional enhancements for the benefit of the romp. For me, George is a sympathetic figure, a lonely man looking for solace, one could question his judgment but he certainly isn’t predatory, but people for the most part, judge actions, not motive. Not only does George frequent seedy sex establishments, already enough for the tabloids to create a week of lurid headlines but he is having an affair with one of the young strippers there, the gorgeous Oliva. To make matters worst, in our times of hysterical pedophilia, the young woman in question is not only young enough to be his daughter but comes from a comfortable bourgeois family. Now this might seem trivial but not to the tabloids. One might expect a young working class girl of morals loose enough to work in such a sex establishment to anchor herself onto an affluent man. However, a young woman like Olivia, from an upright family and with a good upbringing and a bright future to be working in such a place and on the arm of a ‘dirty old man’, one assumes she must have been groomed and taken advantage of. Along with the devastation caused to his family, George would suffer trial-by-tabloid and be found guilty if his story leaked out. He would be forever marked as the sleazy politician who used his money and influence to corrupt an innocent young women. Truth! What of it?

Despite us thinking we live in a more worldly, more liberal age, we have merely redrawn the boundaries to render our own hypocrisies redundant. As always, we rationalize and justify our own behaviours by widening the boundaries for other people. When it comes to politicians, the public is still largely puritan, expecting better behavior from them than from ourselves. We are allowed our peccadilloes because they only affect us and those near to us, but for politicians, how can they possibly run the country properly if they have no sense of decorum when it comes to sex,  as though sex interferes in their ability to run the economy. Rightly or wrongly, I suspect their economic competence or incompetence has more effect on the economy than which way their pendulum swings.

*****

London’s backstreet “peep show” acts as a crossroads for four fascinating people: Lucien, the misogynistic and perverse owner who takes advantage of his sexy employees every chance he can get; gorgeous, young Olivia, who performs in the peep show as a way of rebelling against her strict upbringing; Sharon, the curvy and lusty career stripper; and George, a politician at the end of his game who seeks a diversion at the peep show from his miserable marriage and career, and comes out with more than he bargained for. The story unfolds as the characters clash together and come apart, and come together again. In the end, for each of them, sex is both the problem and the solution.

Lori very carefully re-folded the twenty and put it safely in her pocket. She didn’t want to run the chance of smearing the numbers any more than they already were.

Confidence fueled her steps as she checked on the last of her customers. It wasn’t her imagination. Julian really was checking her out. But for what? He was a sophisticated looking guy, what could he possibly want with her? Probably looking for an easy lay.

Her heart sank a little at that notion. Nothing ever came easy in her life and it was no use getting her hopes set too high that Julian really liked her. All she could offer was love, and sometimes that just wasn’t enough.

* * * *
The twenty dollar bill propped up against her bedside lamp taunted her. Every time she saw it she was tempted to call, but she hadn’t. The fear of disappointment was just too high. By not calling Julian, the fantasy of the unknown wouldn’t be crushed if he did turn out to be a slimy bastard who only wanted one thing.

It had been three days since she saw Julian. He hadn’t tried to contact her and that was telling in itself . Had he truly wanted to get to know her, then he would have called the pizzeria or stopped by. But he hadn’t.

The crowd was light for a Tuesday evening. She tended to her tables in a mundane fashion. Just going through the motions until she could go back to her apartment and stare at the stupid twenty again. At a set of numbers she would never ever have the courage to call.

It was fifteen minutes to closing when the bell chimed on the front door. She didn’t have the energy to shout a greeting or tell them they’d be closing soon. One of the other waitresses could handle it.

At a light tap on her shoulder, she clasped her chest in fear as she spun around. Her mouth fell open; Julian stood in front of her, a shocked expression on his face, his hands held up in the air.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Just as her heartbeat had started to fall back to a normal rhythm, it spiked again. The object of her desire stood right in front of her, his upper lip curled into a very enticing grin.

Winner and New Release!

Drum roll, please!  The Random Number Generator has spoken, and our Winner in the Angels and Demons BlogHop is…

#29, Tyggy! I’ll be sending you your copy of Colors of the Night – hope you enjoy it. It should be right up your alley, judging from your comment 🙂

And a drum roll too for the grand prize winners:

Stephanie, Winner #1291, who won a Kindle Fire, and
Drake, Winner # 4695, who won an Amazon $60 Gift Card

It was a fabulous hop and I loved all your comments – hmm, hadn’t thought about an Angel’s extra added attraction of feathers, you were all very creative!

Our newest book was just released Sunday at Extasy Books! No angels or demons in this one (but you can bet we’re cooking some up for later) – just a happily married pair of baby boomers with an empty nest, trying to spice up their sex life. They’ve been doing great so far with exciting adventures in the swing lifestyle. Here’s the  cover, blurb and an excerpt:

The sought-after Unicorn, so elusive in the Swing Lifestyle. Now that Sarah Creston has materialized in Jen and Brett Andrews’ bed, what’s next?

BLURB

It all seemed so simple: Sarah Creston would move in for the summer, Brett and Jen Andrews could revel in their new threesome, and everyone else would understand. But now Donna and Ryan – their best friends and lovers – won’t speak to them, and Jen seems so infatuated with Sarah that even Brett is worried about the consequences.

Battered from the double whammy of her husband’s death and caring for her aging parents, Sarah Creston thrills to Jen and Brett’s exquisite care and ravishing sex. Now that she’s had her first taste of a woman, will she be satisfied – or will she want more?  Everything hinges on what Sarah wants.

EXCERPT

Feeling like a human sponge, Sarah sighed. Her eyelids fluttered open and shut as she tried to survey the scene around her, but all five senses were on overload.

“This is beyond my wildest imagination,” she mumbled to no one in particular.

Completely nude, she lay on her back atop Carl and Alice’s massage table. Her naked partners had already rubbed down every square inch of her backside—every square inch before turning her over to tend to her front. Sarah laced the fingers of her right hand through Jen’s hair as her lover suckled a breast as if it were their very first time. Similarly, Brett continued tonguing her other breast.

“We’re pleased that you’re pleased,” Carl said, bending over to kiss Sarah’s forehead without interrupting his steady massage of her temples.

“You’re amazing,” she whispered, puckering her lips while reaching up to pull his lips closer to hers. She sighed again as his lips covered hers for another soul searching kiss. Both he and his wife had proven to be incredible kissers. She could hardly wait to see what else they might be incredible at doing to her—or with her.

“Ah,” Sarah moaned. Her hips tensed.

Smiling, Carl broke their kiss and continued massaging her brow, giving her ample opportunity to appreciate Alice’s warm breath flowing over her pussy.

“Relax,” Alice cooed, blowing on her again.

Sarah did her best to soften her muscles, to sink deeper into the massage table and trust her body to her lovers.

Angels or Demons? Welcome to the H*O*P!!

Welcome to the Angels and Demons Blog Hop – we’ve got fabulous prizes for you! One lucky winner gets a Kindle Touch, another winner gets a $60 Amazon or Barnes&Noble Gift Card, and every participating author is offering a special giveaway. How to enter? All you have to do is leave a comment – the more blogs you comment on, the greater your chances for the grand prize. Here’s where to find all the blogs:

Angels and Demons

A huge thank you to Carrie Ann Ryan and Leia Shaw for organizing this Hop. They’re celebrating brand new releases with an angel (Carrie Ann’s) and a demon (Leia’s), so the question of the day is – would you rather snuggle up with an angel, or a demon?

Personally, I’m going for the angelic side – but the particular angelic character I have in mind has a touch of the devilish in her, as well. I’m talking about the love goddess Aria, a pivotal character in the very first published erotic romance my husband and I wrote together, Colors of the Night. We were thrilled to get a five kisses review from TwoLips right out of the gate with our very first effort – here’s a snippet!:

Colors of the Night is an unexpectedly volcanic story which turns the reader up to sizzling from the very first page, yet has a true story line which takes the couple from apathetic despair to love and cherishing. I highly recommend this book, although the reader will no doubt want either a partner or a bucket of toys close at hand.

Barely a year later, we weren’t so thrilled when the original publisher went belly up, taking our books with them. We waited the process out and, once our rights had reverted to us, subbed the book to Extasy, where we were having good success. It was re-released three years ago this week. I might add we were given a fabulous new cover by Martine Jardin:

Colors of the Night

To celebrate our angelic goddess, we’re giving away a free download of Colors of the Night to one lucky commenter. To enter – just answer the question: cuddle with an angel, a demon, or a goddess, and why? Your comment must be posted by midnight Pacific Time Sunday July 1, and the winner will be announced on July 3.

BLURB

The dazzling and timeless love goddess Aria pays a visit to struggling thirty-something Jamie and Ryan Hazleton, who are on the brink of divorce. When the hot sex that results from her first lesson cools to icy glares, Aria decides to move in with them and provide more experiential learning. Can Ryan overcome his jealousy of Jamie’s uninhibited response to the delectable goddess? What if he succumbs to his own desires? Only time will tell whether this love triangle with an immortal will ignite or extinguish the dying embers of Jamie and Ryan’s love.

EXCERPT

“Let me hold you, Jamie, while you offer yourself to your husband.” Aria leaned against the headboard and pillows and held her arms out in invitation.

Jamie joined the goddess. She languished against Aria’s large breasts pillowing her back. Her lengthy legs thrown over the other woman’s legs stretched wide, providing her husband an open invitation. Jamie toyed with her exposed nipples, teasing him. She dropped a hand to her navel and wet her lips.

Ryan required no more inducement and was soon nestled between her thighs, his tongue working its way up her crevice.

Jamie loved how slowly her husband was taking her. She felt like a delicacy that he didn’t want to exhaust too quickly. Aria’s bush rubbed against the base of Jamie’s spine. Had she gone to some sort of erotic heaven? Was she Cinderella at an erotic ball? She purged her mind of any thoughts of midnight. The moment was too precious to squander with negative thoughts.

Ryan teased her by shifting his tongue from side to side and then darting in her channel ever so slightly. He moved upward, nearing but not quite touching her clit, then penetrating further. A finger joined his tongue.

Jamie’s vision clouded. She welcomed Aria’s hands fondling her breasts. Jamie chewed her lower lip and caressed her clit between finger and thumb. The bud came to life. Jamie bit her tongue trying not to scream.

Guest Interview ~ Janine Ashbless

Today we welcome Janine Ashbless, here with some highly original interview responses and a kick-ass book to tell us about. Take it away, Janine!

Why don’t you start by telling us about yourself

I’m an erotica writer from England, a bit like that “Fifty Shades of Grey” author … but without the squillions and squillions of £pounds. Mostly I write paranormal/fantasy based erotica which has been described as “hardcore and literate” (not by me, but I love that quote). Sometimes I write erotic romance instead, but I have to be in a soppy mood for that. I’ve got red hair which I dye even redder.

I live with a husband who has a proper day-job, and two rescued greyhounds. In my spare time I do Live Action Roleplaying and I’m currently obsessed with Game of Thrones. I just spent an hour beating a single stubborn game of Spider Solitaire, in order to psych myself up for this interview – that’s how totally badass I am :)

Tell us one thing about yourself people would be surprised to learn.

I wanted to say something really cool like “I can fell a tree using a chainsaw,” but actually that wouldn’t surprise anyone. So … I love Sesame Street!

Tell us about your writing:

Named and Shamed (out now from Sweetmeats Press) is my 9th full-length published erotica book. I started back in 2000 with a collection of short stories called Cruel Enchantment, published by Black Lace. I’ve written for a bunch of other publishers since.

Here’s a list to search on Amazon/B&N etc:

Cruel Enchantment (fantasy and paranormal short stories, erotica, Black Lace)

Divine Torment (swords ‘n’ sandals fantasy novel, erotica, Black Lace)

Burning Bright (swords ‘n’ sandals fantasy novel, erotica, Black Lace)

Wildwood (contemporary fairy fantasy novel, erotica, Black Lace)

Dark Enchantment (fantasy and paranormal short stories, erotica, Black Lace)

The King’s Viper (fantasy novel, erotic romance, Ellora’s Cave)

Heart of Flame (Arabian Nights fantasy/romance, Samhain)

Red Grow the Roses (vampire mosaic novel, erotica, Mischief)

Named and Shamed (contemporary fairy fantasy novel, erotica, Sweetmeats)

What made you chose to write erotic literature in particular?

I started out writing ghost stories, but erotica is truly my favourite genre. How else do you get to write something that’s gripping, exciting, character-driven and that brings such extraordinary pleasure to the reader? Really good erotica engages the emotions and the intellect as well as the body. It’s full of drama and unforgettable incident. It’s just unbeatable!

How do you get ideas for your stories? What inspires you?

I get ideas everywhere. The other evening I was out walking my dogs and I passed a field of canola in full bloom. The scent was overwhelming. There were parallel tractor tracks leading off into the yellow flowers, like a secret path into the gold, and I thought: “Right – remember that. That’s going into a story one day.”

Which comes first when you’re starting to write a new story: character, setting, plot, or theme?

None of the above. A scene will come first. A dramatic moment. I think visually – just like C.S. Lewis, for example, who created The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe from his mental picture of a faun running through the snow carrying parcels. Once I’ve got a seed picture in my head, I work out the setting and theme and characters from that.

Any advice for those who want to write?

Writing takes time. If you’re really going to write, you’re going to have to give things up. Television – Web-browsing – Social time – Cooking – Housework – I can’t tell you what, but something will have to go. Know this, and be ruthless.

What’s the sexiest feature on a man to you? And on a woman?

For either gender, a fully-functioning brain. I am a slut for clever-arse people.

What’s your own sexiest feature?

I asked Mr Ashbless and he says it’s my “liberation. Your openness to things and experiences and people.” A. N. Othersource said, “Your enthusiasm.” Make of that what you will!

Who are your latest crushes (celebrity, book character, or otherwise)?

Recently? Tyrion Lannister, from Game of Thrones. Tim Minchin, the songwriter. Charlize Theron, the actress. The late Christopher Hitchens, polemicist. I have a huge list of crushes. I crush easily, and almost always on really smart, sarcastic people. Or guys with little goatee beards. Or kickass women with tattoos. Hey, I have eclectic tastes!

If you could pick anyone in the world to be the cover model(s) on your latest release, who would it be?

Ooooooh …. Gerard Butler. He might not be particularly smart or sarcastic, but he’s cover model material in my book. (“My book” … see what I did there? *sigh*)

Do you have a favorite character out of all the ones you’ve written?

One of my favourite characters is The Malia Shai from Divine Torment (she’s renamed Myrna by the time of Burning Bright, the sequel). This may not sound like romantic heroine material … but she’s the physical incarnation of the goddess of famine, plague and earthquakes – all of Bad Nature. Or at least, that’s what she’s been brought up to believe. So she doesn’t think of herself as human at all, and when passion strikes she really doesn’t know how to deal with it. She’s totally innocent and hard as nails at the same time. A really strange character and so huge fun to write.

My other favourite character is the slave Kitten from a ferocious BDSM story called “Janissaries” in my collection Dark Enchantment. I can’t tell you much about her, but she is the most frightening character I’ve ever written.

Thinking about it, I like my male characters because I fancy them, and my female characters because they are bugshit crazy.

Is there a way for fans and others to contact you?

“And others”? Now I’m scared . . .

I blog at: www.janineashbless.blogspot.com

And I’ve got a website loaded with stuff about my books at www.janineashbless.com

I’m on Facebook.

Tell us about your latest release – we’d love an excerpt, too!

Named and Shamed is a BDSM fairytale with a contemporary setting. It’s not romantic, and it’s full of unapologetic kink. It’s my rudest novel to date and a real romp – and it’s illustrated with XXX interior line-drawings by John LaChatte, which means you really can’t leave this one lying around for other people to find!

Cover Blurb:

“Once upon a time . . .  a naughty girl called Tansy stole a very precious manuscript from a kindly antiquarian. But all of the world’s ancient and powerful magic, lost for centuries, has returned – and now there is much more at stake than a few sheets of parchment.

Thus begins a rude and rugged fairytale the likes of which you NEVER read when you were little! Poor Tansy is led though the most pleasurable trials and the most shameful tribulations as her quest unfolds before her. Orgasmic joy and abject humiliation are laid upon Tansy in equal measure as she straddles the two worlds of magic and man.

From debauched dryads to oversexed ogres, fantasy and BDSM slither together to make Named & Shamed the consummate adult fable – all lusciously illustrated by John LaChatte. Immerse yourself in this dark and depraved fairy tale, and may all your endings be happy ever after!”

Excerpt:

For a moment there was no response and I held my breath. Then came the bump of a cupboard door. I had the wit not to move. I held myself almost motionless, face down and ass up, my hands holding my cheeks open, my naked pussy splayed and pulsing with heat. I assumed the house-hob could see in the dark, after all. Gently I shifted my ass back and forth, hoping to entice it. The lino was chilly under my feet.

“Are you a good girl?” said a voice, as faint and whispery as dry leaves.

“Me? Yes, I’m a good girl.” My breath was condensing on the cold tabletop. “I swept the floor and made up the fire before bed. I washed up.”

“Are you clean? Are you careful? Not lazy, not silly, not dishonest?”

By most standards I reckoned I counted as deeply dirty and reckless, to be honest, but that wasn’t the answer the house-hob was looking for. And at least I don’t think I could be described as workshy.

“Yes,” I lied. “I’m a good girl. A good, sweet girl. Take a look.”

With the lightest of thumps it landed on the table next to me, and I tried not to flinch. Then it hopped onto the small of my back. I thought again of spider monkeys, as long, satiny limbs wrapped around my ass. Tiny hands spread my labia. The sigh of a long exhalation of breath reached my ears. Then the tongue. Wet and slick, slipping down my asscrack from hole to hole.

Two Things

Thing One – Charlie Glickman, one of my fave bloggers, posted today on feeling delight. No huge new insights – just a thoughtful reflection on how easily we take delight in things around us when we’re little, how quickly most of us are socialized away from it, and how freeing and restorative it can be to return to our natural instinct for what’s delightful.

Thing Two – I’d just finished reading that when hubs came into the living room and said “Fireflies.” This evening is their first appearance this year, so we went outside and sat on the back deck for fifteen minutes watching them flicker and gradually rise.

Delightful. Thank you, Charlie.

Blog Guest ~ Tabitha Rayne

Today we’re thrilled to welcome back Tabitha Rayne, here to share some of the workings behind her exciting new release, A Clockwork Butterfly. Be sure to check out her entire post ~ you just might find a giveaway!

Thank you for letting me come along to your blog today, Adriana!

Your name got me thinking about a different kind of Kraft… craft

I’ve always loved making things – whether scrap heap sculptures, toys, stories, pictures, anything – if I can think of a thing, I’ll try to make it. But I haven’t often come across men who make things just for the sheer joy of it (maybe a gentleman would like to contradict me here!).

I have always been fascinated by miniature moving parts – so when I was researching clockwork mechanisms for A Clockwork Butterfly, I took apart my grandfather’s old watch. I was astonished at how many bits and pieces fitted into the tiny casing. Just stunning. I modified it to make my own clockwork butterfly – here’s a piccy.

But I was wishing a lovely handsome gentleman had made me one – big strong hands working deftly to make tiny intricate details – I have to stop, I’m swooning! So, the hero of my tale, of course, is the Clockwork Butterfly maker, Angelo.

A Clockwork Butterfly by Tabitha Rayne – Futuristic Erotic Romance

Blurb:
Lovers torn apart by duty…will Angelo and Lena be reunited?

Mankind is close to extinction. Toxins have all but wiped out the male population. The remaining fertile men are housed in manors where their seed is collected.

Lena Lee is a new collector with a rare pheromone believed to reignite human fertility. She’s assigned a male who’s predicted to be her perfect match.

Angelo, a clockwork butterfly maker, is held captive, his essence harvested daily by Lena. Over time, the couple begins to fall in love, something which is strictly prohibited. When their forbidden love is discovered, Lena is banished from the manor.

Torn apart by the duty that brought them together, Lena and Angelo must find a way back to each other. But even if Angelo manages to escape, he doesn’t know where to find Lena. Will following the path of the clockwork butterfly lead him to his true love?

Content Warning: strong language, BDSM, and graphic sexual content, including m/f, f/f, and f/f/m sexual interaction

A little taster…

Lena hardly breathed as her fingertips reached out to the tiny flapping creature. Could it be? She trembled, trying to stifle her excitement with the fear that it might disintegrate beneath her touch, just as it had nightly in the dreams that plagued her.

Closing her eyes, she waited to be jolted into the reality of her cold, empty room. But it was different this time; her fingers flinched as they brushed something real. Lena opened her eyes and picked up the golden butterfly, laying it in her palm. Slowly, the tiny wings stopped beating.

Lena realized her lungs were at bursting point and exhaled up into the ceiling, fearful of sweeping the treasure away with her breath. She studied the lifeless creature carefully. It was so beautiful, so intricate.

“At last,” she whispered into her quivering hands, bowing over with relief. “I’ve been waiting so long.”

* * * *

Lena James Lee waited excitedly in the bustling throng of women all the same age as her. They had been picked up by the coach from various stops throughout the country and most were rumpled, tired, and anxious. They all knew why they were there; their fates had been decided by the Archmatrias long before they had known anything of the manors or what it meant to be a collector.

Lena’s mother had been so proud; she was the only one in her whole community who had been given the special invitation to attend training.

“Remember, Lena,” her mother had advised quite forcefully, “it’s not just your life that depends on this.”

Lena had hopped on the coach without a care in the world. Now though, rumors swelled, starting with hushed whispers and giggling until all-out mayhem ensued.

“They make you wear nothing but a golden thong and you have to crawl around on the floor, parading yourself,” Mae, a loud, stunningly beautiful girl shrieked.

“Are there really men? Do we get to see them?” Lena tentatively asked her in a rare quiet moment.

“Honey, we do more than see them.” Mae cackled and swiped Lena playfully on the back of the head.

Lena felt her cheeks burn, it was clear that the other young women knew a lot more than she did.

“Are you really telling me you don’t know what you signed up for?” Mae leaned in to Lena. “Has no one ever told you what that’s for?” she whispered lavasciously into Lena’s ear and slid a hand up the inside of her thigh.

The truth was, Lena had been brought up with great solemnity about becoming a collector. All the girls were vetted and tested from a very young age and if they showed promise in any of the four categories, their life was pretty much mapped out for them from that day. Lena had been pinpointed as a good candidate for a collector because of her striking looks, poise, and perfect proportions.

“Lena, my dear.” Mae looked at her intently. “I think your mother followed the rules on abstinence and denial a little too carefully!”

“What do you mean?”

Mae rolled her eyes. “I’ve never met anyone so sexually unaware in all my life! You must be at least twenty-one, and I bet you’ve never even pleasured yourself, let alone anyone else.”

Lena recalled the delight on her friends’ faces when she’d brought out her prize-winning lemon meringue pies at tea parties.

“Yes, I have,” she said defiantly, knowing in her heart that confectionary was not what Mae was talking about…

Hot Summer Nights H*O*P

Hot Summer Nights

Is it hot, or what! We were having an unusually cool spring back when I signed on for the Hot Summer Nights Blog Hop, so I thought the only heat we’d be talking about was the naughty, sexy sizzling kind—not! Temps in the 90s here in Northern Iowa yesterday and today – guess the weather wanted to go along with the theme.

What kind of heat do you most love to read? If you like romance and love scenes with two women together, you’ve come to the right spot. There are two of us writing erotic romance under the pen name Adriana Kraft: my husband and myself. We love to heat things up with ménage scenes for three or more – often two women and one man, or two couples, or a swinging party with, say four or five couples…you get the picture!

Swinging Games

If you’ve ever fantasized about the special heat that’s generated when more than one pair of hands or set of lips is focused on tantalizing and pleasing only you, we hope you’ll check out our series on the Swing Lifestyle – Swinging Games, published at Extasy Books. Book Seven, Dare To Adventure, is part of the grand prize book basket at the Hot Summer Nights Blog Hop. An elusive Unicorn, an on-premise Swing Club, m/m, f/f and ménage for three, four or more – what will Jen and Brett dare to try next?

You know the drill – leave us a comment here to be entered for the grand prize. Tell us what kind of heat most feeds your fantasies!
