AUTHOR BIO

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.

From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men’s room toilet (and he isn’t a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).

She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.

EXCERPT

Carolina was introducing him to his former fiancée.

Fine. Near fiancée. It had been a promise ring, not an engagement diamond, but still.

The run he’d just finished was apparently unnecessary from a cardio standpoint, since his heart was now racing, crashing into his ribs as if it were fleeing a crime scene. Not that he was the bad guy. But still.

Kari. No way.

It was his Kari. And okay, maybe she was never formally his fiancée, but until college and distance broke them up, they always planned on it. He’d given her a promise ring in high school, so that was close enough.

When Carolina had mentioned she was meeting two wedding professionals named Katie and Carrie, he’d heard it as the more familiar spelling. She’d never spelled it out, and she hadn’t bothered to tell him Kari‘s last name.

“Caleb, have you swallowed your tongue along with your manners? Shake the poor woman’s hand, for goodness sake!” Carolina crooned, giving him side-eye while managing a puzzled smile at Kari as the two stood awkwardly in front of each other, gaping.

Kari had changed in some ways, for sure, but it was her, alright. Her brown hair was a darker shade but still thick and shiny, framed in soft layers around her face, brushing the edges of straight, strong shoulders. He recognized those whiskey brown eyes, deceptively sleepy unless you knew her, knew that behind them, her brain was working constantly at warp speed.

She was taller now–or anyway, she didn’t wear four-inch heels back then–so instead of having to bend to kiss her lips, he could just dip his head.

If he wanted to kiss her.

If wanting to kiss her wasn’t the only thing he could think about.

Tall Dark and Rich ~ Billionaire Romance Anthology #PreOrder

Tall Dark and Rich: A Billionaire Romance Anthology at an Incredible Price!

I hope this finds you in high spirits and eager for an exciting new reading adventure! I love writing billionaire romance novels, and sharing them with new readers, but there is nothing like an anthology to get the blood stirring. Think about it: more hot heroes, more steamy sex, more clever plot twists, more obscenely over-the top luxury.

I think one of the biggest challenge readers have is determining where to spend their limited reading dollars. This is especially true for mystery and romance readers who are particularly voracious. Readers return to the same authors again and again because they don’t want to throw their money away on disappointing novels. To be honest, I have participated in anthologies before, only to be disappointed by many of the participating authors.

Not this time. As a romance reader myself, I find immense joy in sharing stories to make your heart race and your imagination soar. That’s why I am thrilled to be part of Tall Dark and Rich, an upcoming billionaire romance anthology I feel confident will captivate your senses and fulfill your deepest romantic fantasies.

As of this writing, Tall Dark and Rich features thirty billionaire romances from sweet to scorching, novella to full length read, all written by talented authors. One third of the contributing writers are USA Today or NY Times Bestselling authors. One third! These gifted writers have poured their hearts and souls into crafting tales to transport you to a world of wealth, passion, and desire.

My own entry, A Crazy Rich Dilemma, is a full length, steamy contemporary romance about Leah, studying art and drowning in debt. Leah is still reeling from an out-of-character one night stand with Van when she is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. Renowned art collector, and disgustingly rich, Fletcher Donovan makes his own out-of-character move, loaning Leah his mansion for six months. Missing Van and their sizzling chemistry, Leah bonds with Fletcher over their shared love of art, soothing her battered heart by beginning a long-distance correspondence with Fletcher. Can the billionaire do more than lick her wounds?

Here’s an excerpt from my new book, an All’s Crazy in Love adjacent story and my entry for Tall Dark and Rich.

EXCERPT

Stanton approached, saving me from further discussion, and I watched with relief as Constance meandered away without a backward glance. She’d taken my advice and was hunting. God help the man she snared.

“Still trying?” We shook hands, happy to see one another. Stanton’s grasp was powerful.

“Afraid so. I just want to have some fun, you know.”

“I didn’t see you sneak in.” Stanton surveyed the ballroom, looking past the Christmas trees decked in gold and silver that complemented the traditional styling and made the Drake a classic. “Plenty of fun here tonight.”

“Yes, there is. In fact, there is a woman I curious about—” I pointed to the back of the woman in the green dress.

“Leah Rhodes.  She’s staying with my sister while she finishes Art School. Interested?

“Just curious,” I deflected as convincingly as possible.

“In fact—” Oh no, Stanton wanted something from me. I needed to escape.

I didn’t need more. I had her name and a tidbit of information with which to open the conversation. I waved off Stanton, started to make my move. But my host was still talking to me and I never learned how to be rude. Tuning him out but nodding at appropriate times, I watched as my beauty stepped from the room, my stomach plummeting at the idea that she would leave before I had my chance.

I finally caught wind of what Stanton was saying. This woman needed a place to stay. He was suggesting my house. That was a monumentally bad idea, but—

I scanned for Leah, hoping she would return. She was a standout, with that body, that sweetness about her mouth, and wonder in her eyes. It was a lethal combination. She was mesmerized in that crowd of jaded, rich bitches, fresh-faced and trying not to gape at the splendor. Or maybe she was trying not to judge the expense.

It was the uniqueness of her that attracted me, but those curves draped in emerald green held my interest and notched up my temperature more than a few degrees. I felt the zing of electricity burgeoning with promise and sexual tension. I’d sensed it the moment we made eye contact. I couldn’t lose her now.

“I don’t think it will work,” I told Stanton, understatement of the century. I felt sick simply at the idea. But it was Leah. “Now’s not a good time, and I’m really not good with people in my house. But maybe I could find some other way to assist.”

Certainly, the woman was a beauty, although not in the traditional sense. Her gown, obviously designer, was barely there, cut low, hugging her as I wished to, offering me a glimpse of cleavage that made my mouth water. All of which was icing on the cake, not the tasty confection that was this woman. I sensed much more to her, a depth I couldn’t explain.

Stanton continued talking until I wanted to punch him. The man had never been so loquacious. My expression must have signaled my impatience, because he wound down to the end of a speech, advocating hard for Leah. Who was she to him? Finally, Stanton quit yakking.

“Like I said, I’m not really comfortable with the idea. Don’t get her hopes up, but maybe—maybe I will think about it. Rhodes? Is she related to Melanie Rhodes? She was part of my legal team once or twice, so like I said, maybe I can help some other way.”

That was enough to placate my host so I said my goodnights, eager to find  Leah before anyone else could corner me or Stanford could gauge my level of interest.  One night with this angel was exactly what I needed to cleanse myself of women like Constance and start Paris with a fresh perspective. Having her my bed tonight. Definitely. Having her live in my house, not a chance.

I found her resting in a traditional upholstered chair not far from the ballroom entrance, fingering through something on her phone. An urn behind her created the illusion she wore a flower crown. She resembled a goddess of Greek mythology.

I wasn’t wrong. Leah had no idea who I was. I couldn’t believe my good fortune. For once a woman looked at me without dollar signs in her eyes. Leah was clueless about my family and I wanted to keep it that way as long as possible. I would be gone tomorrow, and she would be none the wiser while  I had the rare opportunity to spend one lovely night with a beautiful woman who wasn’t after a Donovan, and what we could give her. This woman, this goddess, wanted me. I had a chance at an honest relationship, but only if I was dishonest. I appreciated the irony, and didn’t think twice.

“Van,” I said, extending a hand toward hers, using my college nickname. It slid out of my mouth with ease. Her chin lifted to my face. She was more beautiful up close.

Her eyes grew wide, obviously surprised to see me but not unhappy about it. I reached for a handshake and wound up engulfing her fingers, clasping them like fragile glass. She shook and not a limp handshake, mind you; more like she was proving a point. I resisted the urge to press a kiss on the inside of her wrist, wanting to leave my mark on her. “You’re Leah, right?”

She didn’t hide her shock, rubbing a finger along her bottom lip. Was she checking her lipstick or wiping drool? Her expression didn’t make it clear.

“I asked Stanton,” I offered by way of explanation. “Dance?”

I wasn’t wordy, nor elegant, but my movements were swift and smooth, wrapping her in my embrace before she could refuse. I wasn’t willing to risk no and it was obvious her feet were killing her.

She was already halfway out of  the chair when she nodded yes,  her head barely reaching my nose. Hiding us from prying eyes, I kept us away from the ballroom but close enough to hear the music. She was tiny and soft in my arms and didn’t question my choice of location.

Leah fingered the fabric of my tux, then rested her hand like a whisper on my shoulder. Maybe I held her a little closer than appropriate, but she smelled sweet and felt breakable.

“I’m not much of a dancer,” she warned, her voice low and unconsciously seductive.

“I promise not to step on your toes.” Thanks to my years of dance lessons and decades of experience, I spun her to the edge of the lobby, lights and colors speeding past my view. A strong pine aroma emanated from the ballroom, but her floral scent rose above it as I twirled us around the groupings of lobby chairs.  I bent my head closer to inhale deeper. Whatever the perfume, it was a definite aphrodisiac.

“How have we managed to miss each other before this? I think I’ve made most of Stanton’s parties.”

“This is my first. I’m staying with his sister, Huntley.”

“Visiting from out of town?” I knew the answer but wanted to hear her version. “Where is home?”

“Oh no,” she clarified, meeting my eyes and holding me spellbound. “I live here, but a few months ago, I broke up with my boyfriend and he got custody of the apartment. It’s been difficult finding a place since then.”

“Too busy nursing a broken heart?” I held my breath awaiting her response.

She laughed, a soft sound, and I finally got a glimpse of that wide smile in earnest. It transformed girl-next-door Leah into a force majeure. She was magnificent.

“Hardly. More a question of affordability and proximity. I go to school downtown, and housing near the loop is pricey.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. No attachment preventing me from pursuit. “I wish I could help, but I am living in a hotel room at the moment. Upstairs.” Her blush was a giveaway. We were both thinking of that room, easily reached for a night of— “I leave in the morning, but if you are desperate, I could extend it a few days.”

 “Leaving or the room?”

“The room.” I felt disappointed, surprisingly so. I was more intrigued than I’d expected.

EXCERPT

THE MOORE’S RESIDENCE WAS LIKE A SCENE FROM A MOVIE. Lights surrounded the villa, inside and out. Fresh flowers adorned the main hall. The flower beds surrounding had been pruned. The villa’s grounds covered a large expanse of land, and the maintenance was spot on. Laura wrapped her arms close to her chest as she stepped out of the car and handed the keys to the valet. More cars kept coming in, a part of her felt heavy with dread. She had the desperate urge to bolt but she also had to prove to her father that she could oversee her social life as well as her career.

Anyone could tell, the night held promises of tales, rumours, and gossip to be engaged. What she did not realize was that she would be the highlight of whatever spectacle was bound to break out. And so, it began.

The more the guests trooped in, the heavier the weight of her legs and the heavier the weight in her chest. Fear filled her lungs; the development of the project was in her hands and her composure during this party. The pressure made it difficult for her to relax.

Everything about the villa, including the wide sturdy gate connecting a high wall with electric infusion that was designed to keep intruders out. Laura had been to countless parties of elites in her life, but never had she been in a villa that seemed like home, screamed opulence at the same time was fresh and welcoming as the Moore’s.

There was a doorman positioned at the entrance with a warm smile on as he ushered guests in. Everything worked systematically, just as she knew it would. All details had been accounted for. The security system was top notch; they had installed an army of security cameras. Nothing would go wrong it was the Moore’s. The family came from old money. The Pharma Law Firm owned by the family was passed down from generations which implied the strong foundation of the household.

Laura braced herself, sucked in a deep breath as she walked towards the main hall of the villa where the party was in full swing. Music was playing while people stood at different areas hold conversations while waiters went round with champagne for whoever was willing to indulge themselves.

Excerpt:

Chapter O

I’m busy minding my own business, clearing up litter in a field on the outskirts of Hartington when what can only be described as a crazy woman appears, seemingly from nowhere. She’s all wild-eyed, and her blonde hair looks damp. Her outfit is unremarkable, except for the fact she’s got nothing on her feet. Bright red toenails seem massively out of place in this rural village. She seems out of place. I’m not sure why I think this, but somehow, she just doesn’t appear to belong. So what the hell is she doing here?

Normally, I steer clear of other folk unless it’s absolutely necessary, but this woman looks like she needs help. If she’s crossed the road with her feet like that, then they’re going to be scratched to buggery, maybe even cut.

Taking a deep breath, I chuck the empty crisp packet I’ve been holding into my rubbish bag. Then I place it next to the tree I’m standing beside and step out into the woman’s path. I’m used to people not seeing me—or behaving like they haven’t seen me, anyway—so I’m not surprised when she lets out a shriek that could wake the dead and freezes in front of me.

“Hey, hey,” I say gently, holding my hands up placatingly. “It’s okay. I’m not going to hurt you. I just wanted to come and see if you were all right. I can’t help but notice you’re not wearing any shoes. You’re not hurt, are you?” If this chick is so desperate to get away that she’s gone without shoes, then something’s wrong. Seriously wrong.

I look around, half-expecting to see an angry husband chasing after her, or maybe even a shopkeeper. She could be a thief. Glancing at her again, I realise that can’t possibly be the case, unless she’s stolen something invisible. All she has are the clothes on her back.

She still hasn’t spoken, so I try again, attempting to make myself appear friendly, welcoming. Not an easy thing when you’re over six feet tall and pretty wide, too. Also, the tattoos, and the fact I haven’t had a change of clothes, shave, or a haircut for a while don’t help. I wouldn’t blame her if she ran away, to be honest. I must look a fright, but I haven’t peered into a mirror—or even a window—for a good few days, so I can’t be sure.

“Please answer me. Are you hurt? Is there someone after you?”

She looks around, then back at me. Shakes her head. I’m confused—if there’s no one after her, why did she look behind her?

I crouch down. “Are your feet okay? Cut?”

Finally, I get a verbal reply. “N-no. I mean, yes. They’re okay. Not cut. At least… I don’t think so.”

She lifts each foot in turn, checks the soles. So do I. They’re fine. Now she’s answered another of my questions, too. Her accent doesn’t sound local. More like southern England. London, perhaps.

I suppress an involuntary shudder. The thought of London, the big, dirty, smoky city, does not impress me. Horrible bloody place. But at least it explains why the blonde doesn’t fit in. She’s not from around here.

Naturally, I still have a million and one questions, but I don’t know how to ask them without bombarding or intimidating her. Not to mention that really, I have no right to know the answers. I’m a total stranger. But there’s something about her, about her appearance—and I don’t just mean the lack of footwear—that makes me want to help her. Or at least get her back where she came from, which is clearly somewhere in the village. She certainly hasn’t come far, as otherwise her feet would be filthy and bleeding.

What the hell is she doing here?

EXCERPT

From Love You Fiancée

He guided Rachel away from the gazebo, over to an old and dappled beech tree.

“Does the world feel different to you now, Kell?” she asked. “How can a few words make everything change so much? I feel it, too. It’s as if we unleashed a force of energy we didn’t know was out there. No one tells you this! All the articles on engagements and proposals and what to expect and what to do…” She took in a deep breath. “But no one talks about this, this feeling, this charge between the two of us…”

“Maybe they don’t talk about it because they don’t feel it. Maybe it’s that unique.”

She just blinked, once and then twice, the seconds passing as if all he were meant to do was share this space with her.

Nothing else mattered. Nothing else existed. Just the two of them, talking about how their love had exposed a secret aspect of existence.

You know. Everyday stuff.

New Release – Shopping for a Highlander (Shopping for a Highlander, Book 2) by Julia Kent (@jkentauthor) #romanticcomedy #romcom #romance

Description:

I’m a professional chickenblocker.

Except “chicken” is a euphemism.

I get paid to follow a womanizing troglodyte who thinks rules are for other people and that my pants are the next pair he’s getting into.

Dream on.

Bet your first professional job didn’t involve babysitting an extremely hot, muscle-bound Scottish Highlander with an ego the size of a kilt and a libido bigger than his…well…

Chicken.

Keeping Scottish football (that’s ‘soccer” to us Americans) player Hamish McCormick away from inappropriate scandals while he does product endorsement campaigns is my mission.

No problem.

Until Hamish decides I’m his next scandal.

And maybe more….

Shopping for a Highlander is an enemies-to-lovers, slow burn romance that opens with a surprise kiss and ends with a happily ever after. This sports comedy in the New York Times bestselling Shopping for a Billionaire world contains no actual chickens, but it has plenty of locker room scenes, a fake relationship, very real banter, and more. You do not have to have read the previous books in this world, though after you read about Amy and Hamish, you’ll want to.

Release date: January 11, 2022

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance

Cover Designer:  Clarissa Yeo, Yocla Designs

Audiobook Narrators:  Shane East and Emma Wilder

EXCERPT

Hamish McCormick’s tongue is in my mouth. I realize this is a problem half the women on the planet would love to have. He’s a world-famous Scottish soccer–sorry, football to everyone except Americans–player, and my sister is married to his cousin, the billionaire. Given the fact that Hamish is kissing me in front of my date, though, it’s a little awkward. “Ahem,” said date says, scratching his temple, adjusting his glasses, and using polite, understated throat techniques to get Hamish off me. Subtlety doesn’t work on Hamish, though. This kiss is anything but subtle. Pretty sure you’d need a crowbar to pry him off me. Or me off him. The distinction between who is kissing whom was lost long ago. I see my date, Davis, out of the corner of my eye, and I’m about to shove this two-hundred-pound sack of hard muscle and overconfident heat off of me and slap him, but sweet merciful deity, I swear Hamish’s lips have some kind of magic potion on them that renders me spellbound. No kiss has ever tasted like this. Except the last kiss from him.

Reviews:

“Shopping for a Highlander is an entertaining, hilarious ride that had me swooning as hard as I was laughing. I couldn’t get enough of flirty Scottish footballer Hamish and his love/hate banter with the tightly wound Amy!” —USA Today bestselling author Susannah Nix

If serving as reputation manager for a hot hunky muscled pile of Scottish Highlander is a job — sign me up! A scandal-ridden soccer player and the woman who has to keep him in check create the perfect playbook for a swoony rom com. Fans of Julia Kent’s Shopping series will read the opening kiss and only realize at two in the morning that they couldn’t stop until they reached the end. — USA Today bestselling author Deanna Roy

Julia Kent scores a hat trick of fiery romance, madcap comedy, and unlikely relationships in this hot Scottish football romcom. — Gina Robinson, author of Loves Billionaires and Dogs

★★★★★ “Do not miss this one, so many laughs included, a light fun read and great addition to the Shopping Series.”  – Goodreads reader

★★★★★ “Buckle up, buttercup, because you are not ready for Hamish McCormick! His magnetic charm, insouciant approach to life and outrageous shenanigans will shock you while keeping you in stitches, but this Scottish soccer player’s heart is bigger than the Loch Ness monster.” – Bookaddict, Goodreads reader

★★★★★ “Hamish and Amy are absolutely hilarious and I loved their banter. They are perfectly made for each other and I smiled throughout this whole book. Even when Hamish was being a numpty. They definitely have a love hate relationship that worked so well for these two. It had me cracking up and turning the pages to find out the ending.” – Late Knight Luna Reads, Goodreads reader

★★★★★ “I LOVE Amy and Hamish. Separately they are good but together they are wonderful. The sparks are always flying when these two are together.” – United Indie Book Blog

★★★★★ “I swear this series just gets better and better!” – Bibliophile Chloe, Goodreads reader

★★★★★ “Shopping For A Highlander was a rom-com diamond to read. I laughed so hard, tears were sprung from my eyes like with cartoon characters. My husband kept on coming to lean over my shoulder to check on what I was reading. Hamish and Amy were pure cotton candy on sticks. Their bantering was hilarious!” – Bookbub reader

★★★★★ “The growth of these two characters throughout this book is so well developed. Neither of them changes overnight, and neither of them changes against their will. They grow together because of each other’s support, because of their shared experiences, and because they can be themselves with each other. I loved how they truly lifted each other up and wanted happiness for the other. Julia Kent has delivered another knock-out hit in the Shopping Universe, full of all of the humor and heart that you expect from the Jacoby and McCormick families.” – LA Loves Rom Coms

★★★★★ “Oh my goodness! My face hurts from laughing and my heart is happy as a result of that ending. Julia Kent is a definite go to author for me and she never, ever let’s me down.” – Bookbub reader

★★★★★ “Such a funny, feel-good read and it’s definitely one of my favourites from the series!!!” – Bookbub reader

★★★★★ “This book is a slow burn, but the verbal foreplay between Amy and Hamish make up for it throughout the entire story! Highly recommend!!” – Bookbub reader

★★★★★ “Hamish and Amy’s personalities are so rich, deep, sarcastic, and loving. I feel them while I read this story.” – Goodreads reader

★★★★★ “Are you like me with a thing for a big Scottish pro footballer (soccer player if you’re American)? You aren’t prepared for the outrageously sexy and hysterically funny Hamish and his handler, Amy. ” – Goodreads reader

Excerpt

Amanda

It’s Monday.

Our home looks like the set for Extreme Home Makeover, except there’s no bus to move and all of the workmen act like I’m invisible as I wander downstairs after waking up naked in an empty bed.

I throw on clothes and am down the stairs when I spot my husband.

“What is going on?” I ask Andrew, who is huddled over blueprints with some guy who looks like he runs a union hall in South Boston. Tight eyes, distrustful look, goatee, and an intensity that makes it clear you want him on your side.

Andrew breaks away, kisses my cheek, and gives me a saucy half grin. “Just like you wanted. Here we go.”

“Here we go what? We barely talked about what we wanted!”

“We did,” he says, suddenly defensive. “In bed,” he whispers.

“What I want in bed has nothing to do with tile colors and three-season sunrooms!” I say.

Loudly.

“The guys aren’t working on anything like that,” he hisses as a few workmen suppress smiles. “We’re putting in new backup systems.”

“Backups for what?”

“Power outages. Acts of God. Hurricanes. Bomb cyclones that leave six feet of snow.”

I snort. “What, no alien contingency plan? Got a blueprint for a universal extraterrestrial language translator in there?”

Andrew reddens and avoids eye contact.

I frown. “Andrew?” I grab his arm and pull him aside, his muscles tense. “What are you doing? This isn’t how I envisioned remodeling and spending our honeymoon. For one, we didn’t have sex that second time this morning.”

He looks at the clock. “It’s only 7:53. Plenty of time for that.” He grabs me at the waist and pulls me close, trying to divert me with a kiss.

It works.

“We’ve got the geothermal heat unit figured out, and when we redo the gutter system and the roof, in addition to the solar panels, we’ve got an evaporation system set up for clean water collection. Storage is next,” he says to me.

“All that in the first hour of work?” I’m stunned.

“I’m efficient. Two weeks of my focused attention is like five years of a normal human

being’s time.”

“Efficient and humble. I love that in a man.”

“You’d better, because you’re stuck with me forever.”

“Is that a threat or a promise?”

I get a pat on the ass in response.

Excerpt from Desire & Dessert:

“Inside or out?”

The maître’d and Grant were both looking at Stevie expectantly. Usually assertive, she demurred to Grant. “You know the place better; you choose.”

“If you would like the patio, Dr. Harris,” the host suggested in a heavily accented voice, “I have a lovely corner table.”

The couple acquiesced and were seated in the back corner of the enclosed patio. The music was fainter, but still audible accompanied by the tinkling sound of a fountain. Stevie glanced across the patio. There were about eight tables outdoors, all for parties of two. High bushes of hibiscus and roses bursting with blooms surrounded the patio. The fragrance was wonderful, the table incredibly intimate.

“You like it?” Grant asked with a hint of uncertainty.

“I love it.”

“Wait until you taste the food,” he promised, his confidence restored.

They hid behind tall menus, selecting dishes to share along with a carafe of sangria. After giving their order to the server they were finally alone.

“It’s beautiful here,” Stevie breathed. “Thank you for suggesting it.”

“Now that I finally have you alone,” Grant teased only to be interrupted by the server arriving to pour their drinks. “So much for my sinister plans.”

“Do you have sinister plans?” Stevie queried in a low, husky voice.

“Do you want me to?”

“No answering a question with a question,” Stevie responded. She watched conflicting emotions waver across Grant’s face and waited quietly. She would not give him an out. She had learned from business that silence was a powerful tool.

“Yes, in fact, Stevie. I have very sinister plans.”

The words were out, electric between them like a live thing. Stevie sucked in a breath, surprised by how quickly and matter of factly Grant had stated his desires. She reached her foot forward under the table closing the few inches that separated them. She rubbed her foot slowly up his leg, allowing her movements to acknowledge what she failed to say with her lips.

“Have I shocked you?”

“I guess that depends on just how sinister you can be. Mostly you have pleased me,” Stevie admitted. No shy wallflower, she gave Grant a bold smile and placed her hand in his. “I’m looking forward to finding out.”

Grant pressed a soft kiss on the back of her hand then released her as course after course of Latin inspired small plates arrived. For the next hour they spoke of the food, the atmosphere, the music, everything but each other and what lay ahead. After assuring that he ordered something to satisfy Stevie’s sweet tooth, Grant requested the check. When it arrived, Grant automatically reached for it and Stevie reveled in the moment. Too often she was the one who paid for the date. Not tonight.

“We could go dancing?” Grant asked. “Perhaps a salsa club in keeping with our theme?” Stevie believed he was just making a polite offer but couldn’t quite tell.

“Are you a good dancer?”

“Not on a dance floor.” Grant offered her a wicked smile and reached to help her from the chair. “But in a bedroom…”

“Braggart.”

“Am I?”

“Shall we find out?”

Out Now—Shopping for A Billionaire’s Baby (Book 13 in the Shopping series) by Julia Kent @jkentauthor #MFRWAuthor

Release date: April 24, 2018

Genre: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance

Description:

You know what’s even better than marrying a billionaire? Having his baby.

We’re ready. We’ve studied and planned, read all the birth and labor books, researched parenting classes, consulted our schedules, and it’s time.

And by we I mean me.

Declan’s just ready for the “have lots of sex” part. More than ready.

But there’s just one problem: my husband and his brother have this little obsession with competition.

And by little, I mean stupid.

That’s right.

We’re not just about to try to bring a new human being into the world.

We have to do it better, Faster, Stronger.

Harder.

McCormick men don’t just have babies.

They engage in competitive billionaire Babythons.

I thought the hardest part about getting pregnant would be dealing with my grandchild-crazed mother, who will go nuts shopping for a billionaire’s baby.

Wrong.

Between conception issues, my mother’s desire to talk to the baby through a hoo-haw cam, a childbirth class led by a drill sergeant and a father-in-law determined to sign the kid up for prep school before Declan even pulls out, my pregnancy has turned out to be one ordeal after the other.

But it’s nothing — nothing — compared to the actual birth.

Shopping for a Billionaire’s Baby is the newest book in Julia Kent’s New York Times bestselling romantic comedy series and is a 400+ page full-length novel.

Excerpt:

“This conception stuff has you thinking. Philosophically, I mean,” Andrew notes, suddenly paying close attention to me.

“Of course. It’s powerful.”

“How? It’s just sex.”

I snort. “I thought so, too. Until I had sex where I tried to get her pregnant on purpose.”

Vince, Gerald, and Andrew all take a step closer to me.

“Bareback,” Vince whispers, like the word itself is holy.
