New Release: Haylen, by Kate Hill #MFRWAuthor @katehillromance

The demons will be villains, and none will be redeemed. That had been my intention for the Fangs and Fists series when I started writing it. I should have known I wouldn’t stick to it because it goes against my nature. In fiction, I’m usually drawn to the villain and antihero types. If they’re sinister, damaged, or rebellious, I want to know more. I also like shades of gray characters because most of the time people, even in real life, aren’t completely one way or another.

I had intended for the Fangs and Fists demons to be villains only, and then Haylen appeared. He was definitely a bad guy, but not totally. Somehow, despite a long walk down the wrong path, he managed to retain his humanity, even if he didn’t realize it himself. In a way, his bad choices in the past made it possible for him to eventually fight for a good cause.

Have you ever encountered a character who is one of the bad guys but has the potential to change? Who are some of your favorite antiheroes or villains turned hero?

Kate

BLURB

Fangs and Fists 4: Haylen

Faith healer turned resurrection demon, Haylen served the masters for centuries, creating legions of the soulless. By bargaining with the rebels fighting the demon masters, Haylen was freed from a tracking device viciously implanted in his spine and reinforced with evil magic. Now armed with both his demonic powers and his former angelic gift of healing, he can choose his part in a world where good and evil are constantly at war.

Maddy, a young mechanic with magical powers, has studied Haylen’s history and finds the demon fascinating, but she’s even more intrigued by the man he can become. Haylen appears to return her interest, but will the good witch save the demon’s soul, or will he corrupt hers?

And he has put Xavier in charge of saving their kind.

But the Lion Head is just the agent of a darker evil, one that will do anything to escape the Lightless Realm and reclaim the lycan throne. Knowing he stands no chance of defeating them alone, Xavier seeks help from the wolves he trusts the most and Karis Mickelson, a beautiful human who has no business existing in his world. After a visit with the pack dibia points them toward the only Igbo treasure that can bind the sinister entity to Earth, they set out to claim it before it is discovered by the dangerous ancestor who desires to claim it first. But Xavier’s growing connection to Karis not only threatens to derail their mission, but upend his entire life. If he can’t manage to take control of his feelings and honor his true purpose, then the darkness just might win.

Books in the Flame Series:

Book 1: Blood Flame
Book 3: Dark Flame
Book 4: Amber Flame

~*~*~*~*~*~
Excerpt from AMETHYST FLAME:

From Chapter One ~ Vaughn and Emma are in the Graveyard. They’ve been sent to a crime scene where they’ve just found three dead teenage girls. Vaughn senses that he and Emma have been set-up and are now in danger…
Tears shimmered in Emma’s green eyes, which made her even more beautiful than he remembered. She had thick auburn hair, the front portion pulled into her usual top knot. The rest hung almost to her waist. Her creamy complexion glowed in the moonlight and her snug jeans and t-shirt reminded him of everything he’d once held in his arms.
The pain she obviously felt about the deaths below echoed his own. Doing good in their sick, corrupt world was a rare thing, and he hated that their joint efforts to save these teens two months ago had ended in tragedy. But he had to give Emma this, she had grit and he loved that about her.
As for the author of the crime, Wizard Loghry was one of the most vicious criminals in Five Bridges. The amethyst flame addicted warlock had strong ties to the cartels that ruled the underworld of their alter society, which meant he was well-protected. He could do whatever he wanted without fear of repercussion.
He operated several sex clubs in Elegance Territory stocked primarily with teenage girls. He systematically abducted them from the human part of Arizona, then smuggled them past the border that separated the city of Phoenix from the cordoned off province of Five Bridges.
Sometimes the girls entered Loghry’s work establishments in their fragile human forms. Other times, he put them through the difficult alter process and made vampires out of them. It was rumored he liked fangs in his throat, and that he’d kept a female vampire imprisoned for years in the labyrinth below his Elegance mansion.
Emma crossed her arms protectively over her chest. “Did your boss send you out here?”
“Yep. Easton delivered his orders personally.” Chief Easton, of the Crescent Territory Border Patrol, had taken pains to make sure Vaughn made it to the Graveyard. Alone.
Emma snorted her disgust. “Donaldson came to my office himself and he never does that.”
Vaughn heard several male voices. Turning, he saw that three more Elegance Border Patrol officers had arrived and were laughing it up near the first SUV.
Vaughn jerked his chin toward them. “Any of those warlocks clean?” He was pretty sure he knew the answer, but he asked anyway.
She turned to glance in the direction of her territory’s policing force. “No. Just ignore them. They’re vermin.”
He shifted his gaze back to her. He knew she didn’t take bribes. Neither did he. Being on the take had a stench, and he could smell a corrupt officer at a hundred yards…
I hope you found yourself caught up in this excerpt from Chapter One of AMETHYST FLAME. To Read More and For Buy Links…

I came here to win a horse race #8Sunday #MFRWAuthor #RomanticSuspense

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors, where writers share an 8 to 10 sentence snippet of their writing on Sunday.  Be sure to visit other participants at http://www.wewriwa.com/  and read and comment on their #8sunday posts.

Spread the word: Twitter hashtag #8sunday

We’ve sat in the stands at Wyoming Downs and watched a California shipper breeze past the local Wyoming and Utah horses for an easy win, so we know something about why Clint Travers has a negative reaction to Cassie before they’ve even met. It’s a bit of a stretch to think a Chicago trainer would go to the expense and effort to ship a horse in just to get a win – the small purse will hardly cover expenses. But Cassie’s dad is a savvy trainer. He knows two things – the horse needs a win to build her confidence, and she’ll come back to Chicago with an altitude advantage. If all goes well, her next purse – in Chicago – will more than make up the difference.

EXCERPT

The cowboy glared at Cassie and anger crept into his voice. “You’re just trying to get a cheap win for your horse.”

“That’s horse racing, isn’t it?” Cassie’s voice rose, and she boldly returned his hard stare. “And the favorites win only a third of the time. So?”

“Uh huh—unless someone ships in a ringer. This filly will go off three to five. The bettors aren’t gonna be very happy with you, either.”

“Well, hot damn. I didn’t come here to win a popularity contest. I came here to win a horse race. And that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

High stakes, a fiery Irish redhead, her stunning racehorse, and a fiercely loyal rancher.

Cassie’s Hope
Series: Riders Up! Book One

B&B Publishing:
November, 2013

Ebook, Paperback
Novel: 71,000 words
Cover Artist: Rebecca Poole
Three flames:

Explicit sex: M/F

BLURB

What happens when a fiercely loyal widowed half-Ute cowboy meets a fiery redhead with an Irish temper to match? Cassidy O’Hanlon – Cassie, to her friends – has set aside her Chicago career for six months to train racehorses for her dad after his stroke.

Furious the interloper has shipped in a ringer from the Chicago circuit to his Wyoming turf, Rancher/trainer Clint Travers sets out to put her in her place. Sparks fly immediately, but after their rocky start, the two quickly forge a passionate relationship, and he follows her to Chicago.

When it becomes clear someone is drugging Cassie’s horse, Clint sets out to solve the mystery, but storms off in a cloud of wounded pride when suspicions turn to him.

Can love trump pride?

Fun Facts About . . .

Sharon Buchbinder

Sharon Buchbinder and her husband used to breed and show Egyptian Maus and Color Point Persians (formerly called Himalayans). If you’ve ever seen the mockumentary, Best in Show, you have an idea of what life was like 24 out of 52 weekends a year for this wild and crazy couple. When Sharon returned to school for her PhD in 1986, she decided a doctoral program plus a toddler plus a full time job was more than enough and they placed all their cats in good homes―including their own.

Lashanta Charles

So I don’t really have anything too witty, but I have a 6-year-old with a sharp tongue. One of the things I always tell my kids is that mommy and daddy knows everything. So one day I’m taking my daughter to the store to buy toys with her birthday money. This is how the conversation went:

Her: So, who gave me this birthday money?

Me: Poppy (Grandad)

Her: Oh, I really miss Poppy. I want to go see him.

Me: Well, you have to wait until this summer, when you’re out of school.

Her: Why?

Me: Because you have to learn things in school and if you miss a day, you’ll miss what you need to learn and then you won’t know everything.

Her: Ohhhhh, you mean like you and daddy don’t really know everything even though you say you do?

Me: *speechless*

Keta Diablo

Keta once dressed up as old man on Halloween and picked up her 9th grader at school in costume! Needless to say, he wasn’t pleased. In fact, he refused to get in the car. She followed him out of the parking lot and down the street for two blocks before he’d even look at her. Yes, he finally got in, but didn’t appreciate her humor…at all. Update: He’s in college now and says the “old man” incident is now one of his fondest childhood memories.

Kat Doran

There was the time I played private duty nurse for my uncle, a parish priest, after he underwent a resection of an aortic aneurysm. It was a very scary for the entire family, for a number of different reasons. It became my job to ensure Father Joe got sufficient rest which boiled down to playing traffic cop and time-keeper on visitors. On one afternoon, I could see Joe was fatigued and needed a nap. As I rounded up the crowd to send them out the door, one smirked at me.

“Who’s Nurse Ratched, Joe?” he asked.

I said, “Who are you, the Pope?”

He said, “Close to it, honey. I’m the Bishop.”

Margo Hoornstra

Becoming a coffee connoisseur wasn’t an instant fall head over heels event for Margo Hoornstra. Initial cups were loaded with milk and sugar. When the children arrived, two AM feedings coupled with six AM risings for work necessitated more indispensable caffeine. Flavored, iced, lattes and such, a true coffee aficionado, she covets them all.

M.J. Schiller

One day–when M.J.’s triplets were about two, and her eldest four–she was doing laundry and matching up the socks, one of her least favorite chores. She lined them up all along her arms as she hunted for their mates. After a bit of fruitless searching, she glanced at the time and realized she needed to hustle to be on time for a prayer service she was attending at her church.

She made it in time, her four children in tow, and removed her coat before kneeling to say a prayer. An half hour later, as she piously prayed along with the congregation, her eldest asked, “Mommy, why do you have a sock on your shoulder?” She had missed removing one of her husband’s long, mateless gym socks!

New Release: Tender Echoes, by Reily Garrett

TENDER ECHOES

A Dark Prequel to Digital Velocity (The McAllister Justice Series Book 1)
by Reily Garrett

Genre: Suspense/Thriller

Theft of spirit is no one’s birthright.
A quirk of her X chromosome furnished Alexis with an edge few others enjoyed. After fate plunged her into orphan status and an intolerable foster home forced her to the streets, a group of prostitutes sheltered her from their vicious pimp. Seeing something special within, they nurtured and shielded her from their harsh reality until she could forge her own path in life.
Destiny frequently takes us back to our roots. Lexi’s return journey begins when a serial killer attacks one of her adopted sisters. Relying on courage and wit, she must stay a step ahead and secure evidence to free her family from a psychopathic murderer.

“Jesus, Charlie. Hold on. I’ll get you to a hospital.” Lexi swallowed hard against the rising tide of acid degrading her throat’s lining as the unfolding scene corrupted her sanity. Pressure against the makeshift bandage on Charlie’s belly wound yielded a deeper crimson soaking her jacket, the provisional dressing secured by fingers encased in a thickening, sticky glove. So much blood.
This could’ve been Lexi’s fate—stabbed, slashed, disfigured for all time, blood forming rivulets pooling in the alley’s filth. Maroon puddles mingled with body fluids common to alleys sheltering the homeless as if destined to couple in a macabre, virulent concoction.
“R-run, Lexi. D-don’t let him make you a w-whore. I wasn’t—strong enough. Y-you were never p-part of the street life.” Trash and other filth from the narrow passageway cushioned Charlie’s bruised and battered head. One front tooth was missing, probably swallowed, while blood seeped from jagged slashes on her cheeks and brow, both career enders in the event she survived. “You shouldn’t be here. It was a mistake to text you, but the cops wouldn’t believe us girls.”
“Did your pimp do this, Charlie? What’s his real name?” Tell me so I can help you.
Remnants of a cardboard box, a vagabond’s homemade privy, retained odors of the dispossessed, rivaled only by the excrement saturating every molecule of thickened air drawn into her lungs. This was no place and no way to die.
“Yeah—said I stole from a customer. But I didn’t. The b-bastard just wanted a freebie.” Otherworldly pain glazed eyes forecasting a nonexistent future while icy wind leached color from a once-beautiful face now smeared with crimson streaks and pain. “Won’t tell you his name. I didn’t want to die alone. You’re f-free. You made it.”
“No, Charlie. I’ll get help. Lie still while I secure a pressure dressing.” This late at night, there’d be few cars to flag down and no foot traffic from which to enlist help. She was forced to rely on emergency personnel who’d classify the incident as NHI, no human involved.
Terror-induced flashbacks spewed forth of a stranger offering refuge to a teenager standing on a precipice, a choice. She’d first thought him relatively handsome, not understanding the slimy base of his character. She’d had no experience with pimps. Still, something inside steered her away from his pleasant façade. Perhaps she’d sensed his underlying character. Instinct had directed her to the unknown, where a small group of prostitutes offered shelter and nurtured her mind.
With one hand, Lexi freed her belt and maneuvered it under the fallen girl’s tiny waist amid groans and mewling cries. Youth and a livelihood from flatbacking necessitated a svelte figure, which facilitated her efforts to cinch the leather strap tight. Lexi reached for the cell clutched in Charlie’s hand, knowing the late hour meant a longer wait for help. Her fingers, covered in sticky crimson ropes of blood, tangled briefly with Charlie’s, a squishy squeeze to lend encouragement. Another bolus of acid rose in her throat.
“No.” One word spoken from the disembodied voice behind her could flash freeze Hell and instigate the formation of ice crystals in any world, under any circumstance.
AmazonB&NKoboGoodreads
COMING APRIL 24!
“Digital Velocity is a fast-paced romantic suspense thriller that sophisticatedly weaves drama, excitement, grit, raw emotions and mystery. Garrett takes her readers on a journey where suspense and romance are taken up several notches as she unfolds and reveals the identity of a murderer that is on the loose. With her vivid prose, Garrett entices readers to see the bond that is brewing between Detective Ethan McAllister and his unlikely informant.” Michelle Tan, RT Book Reviews

Keyboard prodigy, Lexi Donovan has risen from teenage orphan of the streets to complete independence with little help along the way. When a friend is threatened, Lexi’s anonymous message sends police into a firefight, leading to a wounded cop.

Detective Ethan McAllister’s well-ordered life turned upside down the day an obscure text message led to a sexual predator’s identity. Since then, Callouston PD’s finest can’t trace the elusive hacker. The latest tip leads him to a brutal mutilation and a riddle indicating the identity of the next murder victim.
The dark net houses a playground for the morally depleted and criminally insane. When Lexi discovers the killer’s digital betting arena, she finds herself centered in a cyber stalker’s crosshairs bearing equal talent.
Street life strengthened Lexi while toughening her protective shell, but nothing could shield her from the shrewd detective forging a path to her heart.
Reily’s employment as an ICU nurse, private investigator, and work in the military police has given her countless experiences in a host of different environments to add a real world feel to her fiction.
Though her kids are her life, writing is Reily’s life after. The one enjoyed…after the kids are in bed or after they’re in school and the house is quiet. This is the time she kicks back with laptop and lapdog to give her imagination free rein.
In life, hobbies can come and go according to our physical abilities, but you can always enjoy a good book. Life isn’t perfect, but our imaginations can be. Relax, whether it’s in front of a fire or in your own personal dungeon. Take pleasure in a mental pause as you root for your favorite hero/heroine and bask in their accomplishments, then share your opinions of them over a coffee with your best friend (even if he’s four legged). Life is short. Cherish your time.

BLURB

When war hero Michael Jarvis returns to his hometown on the shores of Lake Superior, he doesn’t plan to stay—he’s undercover, investigating a possible sex trafficking ring operating on the Great Lakes. But he does want to sample the pesky girl next door he always turned down—and it wouldn’t hurt if she’d clear up a few mysteries of her own along the way.

Successfully established as an interior house painter, Brenda Tower finally has her act together as a single mom—but it hangs by a thread, a secret she’ll guard with her life. The return of her youthful crush Michael Jarvis threatens to unravel everything.

Jealousy has inflamed Brett Hill’s hatred of Michael and Brenda for as long as he can remember. Revenge will be so sweet—and it will fit in perfectly with his high stakes game.

When the secrets break open, can Michael and Brenda find the courage to trust each other, or will revenge and betrayal triumph?

EXCERPT

Hours later, Michael dried the china, crystal and silverware Brenda had brought out for his dad’s birthday party that didn’t go in the dishwasher. Tommy had gone to his room as soon as the others had left. No one seemed surprised that Michael had lingered to help with the dishes. More than satisfied with the turn of events, he hummed a show tune while Brenda fidgeted with the last of the silverware.

Remaining focused on scrubbing a stubborn piece of icing from a fork, Brenda muttered, “You’re making me nervous.”

“What?” He scowled at her profile. “Am I standing too close? Am I humming too loudly?”

Heaving an exasperated sigh, Brenda dropped the fork in the dishwater and turned to face him. “All of the above and much more. You didn’t have to stay behind and help with the dishes. I can do this without you. I have for years.”

“I’m sure you can. But that’s not what’s gnawing at you, is it? I thought you were coming around.” He stared at her through half closed eyelids.

She blanched.

“You’re the one who started the knee play beneath the dining table.”

“I know.” She shrugged, looking lost. “That was my impish clown, I guess. I can’t explain it, Michael. I’m sorry. I dreamed about you for hours on end when I was a kid. I threw myself at you. But you didn’t want me then. I was a fool.”

“Maybe I was the fool,” he replied softly, rubbing the back of his hand across her shoulder.

Guest Barb Caffrey: Love in Changing Faces #MFRWAuthor

Today we’re excited to welcome author Barb Caffrey and her intriguing story of transgender love, currently on sale for $.99!

Once you have found your soulmate, the universe will do almost anything to keep you together—even change your faces.

When I first started the story that became my new contemporary LGBT-friendly novel, CHANGING FACES, I had no idea what I was getting into. All I knew was one scene: my couple, Allen and Elaine, were in a crisis. She wanted to leave him. And that would’ve been a fatal mistake. So two aliens—or angels, as I wasn’t quite clear yet what they were—decided to help them…the next thing Allen and Elaine knew, they’d been in a car accident, and Allen had woken up in Elaine’s body in the hospital.

Where was Elaine, you ask? That wasn’t so simple. She was…elsewhere, talking with one of the angels. (Yes, I decided they were angels, after a while.) And it was up to Elaine whether or not they were going to be able to go forward, albeit in different bodies than before.

This scene still exists in the current, final, version of CHANGING FACES. But the reason for that scene is not exactly what I thought it was, many years ago when I first started fiddling around with this story. You see, while Allen is a straight man in love with a beautiful woman, Elaine is gender-fluid, bisexual, and would rather be in a male body even though she will always think of herself as female.

Clear as mud, no?

So, how did I come up with this? I really don’t know. Sometimes I think the stories pick me rather than the other way around. And Elaine being the way she is threw me for quite some time, because I’d never met anyone quite like her.

Mind, both Elaine and Allen are clarinetists and graduate students, and I’ve met many musicians. (I play the clarinet, saxophone, and oboe myself, and have two degrees in music.) So that part of Elaine—the part that loves music, and that derives satisfaction from playing it well—was completely comprehensible to me. Which did help me figure her out, after a while…but I digress.

How did I find Elaine’s character? Oddly enough, it was through her love, Allen. Seeing how much he valued Elaine, and seeing how he viewed her, made an enormous difference to me as I wrote CHANGING FACES.

Granted, it was much easier for me to understand Allen. He’s a guy who deeply loves a woman. Allen is different in that he loves Elaine’s soul, not just her body. (More men should be this way. And more women. But again, I digress.) And he’ll do anything for her—demonstrably, anything. So long as he can be with her, he’s fine.

And if he has to be put in her body so she can heal in his, while he’ll definitely not like it, he’ll deal with it. Because that’s just how much he loves Elaine.

And Elaine knows this. Because she loves him just as much. She wants to be with him and to live and grow and get married to him, be only with him, and love him until the end of time. But she was hurt badly, years ago (a gang-rape), and she never felt right in her own body anyway. This makes it hard for her to be open with Allen about who she is and what she wants and how to go about it…and it’s why she was about to leave him at all, despite the fact she is desperately in love with him.

CHANGING FACES is a romance, so of course I wanted to find a way for them to be happy together. My solution—changing their faces—is not one I’d ever seen before. And getting two quirky, shapeshifting angels into the mix while I did it had enormous appeal because love is an incredibly important thing. Without love, we’d not be stirred to the heights of our creativity, and our passion would not be engaged, and we’d not be able to live and grow and get to know others as well as we know ourselves. Gender expression and sexuality matter a whole lot less than the soul does to love; if one soul calls to another, and is answered, that’s what matters.

As I see it, true love matters to the universe. That’s why I’m glad to tell Allen and Elaine’s story in CHANGING FACES, and I hope you will enjoy it, too.

BLURB

Allen and Elaine are graduate students in Nebraska, have been together for seven years, and are engaged. They love each other very much, and have many things in common. Both play the clarinet, are teaching assistants, are well-respected and seem to have their lives firmly on track. In fact, their life should be idyllic, but Elaine’s past includes rape, neglect, and abuse from those who should’ve loved her—but didn’t, because from childhood, Elaine identified as transgender.
When Elaine tells Allen right before Christmas, he doesn’t know what to do. He loves Elaine, loves her soul, has heard about transgender people before, but didn’t think Elaine was one of them—she looks and acts like anyone else. Now, she wants to become a man and is going to leave.
He prays for divine intervention, and says he’ll do anything, just please don’t separate him from Elaine. And in the form of a car accident, he gets his wish.
Now, he’s in Elaine’s body. And she’s in his. But both were injured, and Allen’s old body (with Elaine inside) is in a coma.
Allen can’t tell anyone who he is. But one thing’s certain: if Elaine can wake up, he wants to be with her. He doesn’t care what body he’s in, or that he, too, is now transgender.
True love matters so much to the universe, once you have found your soulmate, the universe will do anything to keep you together—even change your faces.

If Music be the Food of Love, Play On #MFRWAuthor #Romance #Writing

Welcome to Week Seven of the MFRW Blog Challenge! Music to Write By ~ what a perfect topic the week after the Grammys, which kept us glued to the TV all the way to the end! Fabulous testimony to the power of music.

I nearly got lost in the world of famous quotes about music to come up with this week’s meme from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, which I chose because it’s historic, it’s from a famous writer, and it’s about love. We’re romance writers, after all.

But it turns out I couldn’t choose just one quote, so here’s my pick of the best of the rest of the competition:

“Music is a language that doesn’t speak in particular words. It speaks in emotions, and if it’s in the bones, it’s in the bones.” ― Keith Richards

“If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.” ― Albert Einstein

“Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.” ― Maya Angelou

“When you make music or write or create, it’s really your job to have mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex with whatever idea it is you’re writing about at the time. ” ― Lady Gaga. And didn’t she totally rock that Superbowl halftime show?

So what music do we write to? As you know, two of us write together under our pen name, and we write to different music. In different rooms, I might add.

Mr. Kraft loves several genres of music, including contemporaries like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Adele, as well as both rock and roll and country from the fifties to the present. But none of those top his list of music to write by. Both of us have come to love Celtic music, even before we saw Riverdance and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance live in the eighties. We each have Celtic roots in our ancestry (among other things), so the music speaks to us across the centuries. He’s most likely to have several Celtic CDs stacked in the player to encourage his muse. We also find these tracks helpful in establishing an erotic ambience…

Here’s one of his favorites: Down by the Salley Gardens, with Joanie Madden on the flute: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LrZa-QcNQA

Though I love all of the above, I grew up in a home filled with classical music, started piano lessons at age five, and went on to play the pipe organ and the recorder (wooden flute), then branched into folk music with guitar and hammered dulcimer. Perhaps because I studied so much of Bach’s amazing organ music, it’s the Baroque era that fills my soul and most speaks to me as I’m writing and editing. If we have past lives, one of mine must have occurred between 1600 and 1750. The music is in my bones, always familiar even if it’s a piece I think I’ve never heard in this lifetime.

I’ve sung in choirs, glee clubs and community choruses all my life, and choral music (secular as well as sacred) stirs me just as deeply. But when I’m writing, the distraction of the words is too much, so I stick to orchestral.

My all-time favorite Baroque piece is Bach’s Air on a G String (as an author of erotic romance, you bet I’m aware of the double entendre  🙂 ). Pachelbel’s famous Canon in D is a close second, but I’ve known the Bach longer. You can listen to it here:
