BLURB

How can a couple of former spies enjoy life in their personal corner of paradise, when things from the past keep coming back to haunt them?

What does a former spy have to do to get some peace and quiet in his personal corner of paradise? In the laidback ease of the Florida Keys, Nick Seven has carved out a life far removed from the intrigue that once defined his life in the CIA. He runs his trendy club on the Gulf, keeps a low profile, and enjoys the tropical setting with Felicia, his Barbadian lover and former co-worker. After he sees a woman being killed at a resort, Nick finds himself thrust into an investigation where there is no corpse and no evidence of a crime. The police are busy with a string of high-profile home burglaries and don’t have time to look for his imaginary victim, so it’s up to Nick to investigate. Then French con artist Marco St. Julian unexpectedly surfaces from Nick’s past. Are the incidents related? And what part does the wealthy young trophy wife of a convicted financial scammer play in all of this? Throw in a career-hungry FBI agent, a mysterious Cuban crook and an ex-patriate Irish gunrunner, and it’s more than just another day at the beach.

EXCERPT

The intruder stood in the shadows at the rear of a spacious oceanfront home on Duck Key, waiting for the right moment to go to work. The nighttime Florida sky was punctuated by a bright slice of quarter-moon and a handful of stars. The only light in the old-moneyed neighborhood was provided by ornate street lamps and security lights. Just the way the intruder liked it: enough light to see by, not enough to be seen. The background noise was a combination of waves lapping ashore and distant trawlers scooping up fresh catch. Occasionally a car would cruise by.

The home was one of many in the rich Florida Keys oceanfront enclave known as Hawk’s Cay, just south of Conch Key on the Overseas Highway. It was the kind of place that catered to a certain brand of people, like rich retirees, trust fund babies and savvy bankers who got out while the market was still good. Thousands of people cruised past it every day on their way to and from Key West without giving it more than a passing glance.

The intruder wore a black nylon catsuit that covered every inch of flesh from head to toe, as though they had been sprayed with onyx lacquer. They saw their shadow flash briefly in the glass of the French doors, tall and slender with narrow hips, an elfin-like creature gliding through the night. Their gloved fingers ran along the frame of the door that led to the interior of the home, but stopped when they located the security system sensor near the top. It was a cheap hardware-store variety contact alarm, not appropriate for such an expensive house. The person carefully slid a thin piece of magnetized metal between the two contact points, then crouched to work on the lock. Two metal picks in the keyhole were expertly moved against the tumblers until the intruder heard the telltale click of the lock giving way.

They opened the door and stepped inside, finding themselves in a small dining area off of the kitchen. The interior of the house was illuminated by one lamp from the living room. They stood still for a few moments, not detecting any sounds, then walked to the bedrooms at the rear of the home. They used a small flashlight to illuminate the way, then stopped when they reached the largest bedroom at the end of the hallway. According to the floor plan, this was the master suite.

They approached a dresser and found a small wooden jewelry chest in plain view. Their gloved hands opened it and the flashlight’s beam reflected off the gold and diamond baubles the chest contained. The intruder took a black vinyl drawstring bag from a pocket and transferred the contents to the bag.

They switched off the flashlight, then retraced their steps to the French doors leading to the deck. They momentarily froze when a car passed on the street nearby. After waiting a few moments, the person left the way they had come in and moved to the street, taking advantage of the natural cover provided by shrubs and hibiscus bushes. They made their way to a black Toyota coupe parked down the block and got in.

The driver pulled off the black hood of the catsuit, then fluffed her long dark brown hair, letting it cascade to her shoulders. She pulled down the visor and looked into the lighted vanity mirror, arranging her hair with her fingers. She checked her tanned face for a moment and satisfied herself that she looked natural, not like someone who had just committed a home invasion.

She drove slowly along the narrow street, then crossed a wooden bridge that traversed the channel that ran through the subdivision. When she reached the Overseas Highway she merged with the northbound traffic and maintained the speed limit to avoid any attention from the police routinely patrolling the highway. She glanced at the small bag of gems on the passenger seat and smiled, feeling a little giddy. She gazed forward and saw the marker sign on the right berm, the one reminding her that she was 15 miles from Key Largo.

She continued her northern trek while doing mental calculations. Tonight marked the sixth successful break-in over the past two weeks at various locations along The Keys. All were of fancy homes owned by well-to-do people with more money than they knew what to do with–wealthy industrialists and financiers who had made their riches off the sweat of blue-collar types, and the investors who fell for their scams. People who were smart enough to fleece the flock and dodge the subpoenas when the lawsuits began flying.

The woman slowed as she reached the entrance to the Sunset Resort on the Gulf side of Key Largo. She signaled her turn, then crossed the median into the parking lot, nosing the coupe into a spot at the end of the building, where there was no security camera. She got out, used a key card to enter the hotel, and took the elevator to the third floor. She hesitated before walking to her room, checking that there were no guests in the hallway.

Once inside the suite, the woman transferred tonight’s haul into a gallon-size freezer bag. She took a moment to give a closer look at something that had caught her eye. It was a gold pendant in the shape of a unicorn, about two inches long, with emeralds making up the horn and eyes, on a heavy rope chain. She pocketed the necklace, then secured the bag alongside three others in the designated hiding place.

WHO IS GILLIAN SMITH?

Gillian Smith, the heroine of my Toymakers Guild series, is a scientific genius and a sexual adventurer. She’s only nineteen when she shows up at the door of Randerley Hall, successfully figures out the access code, and demonstrates sufficient talent in both the technical and carnal realms to win a place for herself among the secretive and selective band of erotic artificers.

As the series continues, she becomes more mature, taming some of her impulsiveness and learning to understand the nuances of desire. She assumes increasing responsibility for the work of the Guild, providing design guidance and supervising the other engineers. Meanwhile, she remains open to the varied opportunities for sensual pleasure offered by Guild membership. She understands that lust is the lubricant for the Guild’s creativity and that despite the outrageous ways that it is sometimes expressed, the bonds among the Toymakers go far beyond the physical.

Authors often – perhaps even always – use aspects of themselves when creating their characters. Nevertheless, Gillian is not me. When I was nineteen, I was a dreamy bookworm, not an engineer. While she is bold and self-confident, I was painfully shy. Her appearance – tall, slender, with curly reddish hair – has little in common with my short, curvy build and mousy brown locks.

Still, at her age I was as fascinated by sex as she is, if nowhere near as active. As I grew older, that fascination deepened. I began to explore my kinks and cravings and live out my fantasies in a manner that she’d understand. I’ve had sexual adventures she’d find quite familiar. In the meantime, my view of sexuality ended up having quite a lot in common with hers – that even what seems like casual lust has emotional and spiritual dimensions.

I also must admit to basing some of Gillian’s emotions and behavior as a technical project leader on my own experience. I did end up as an engineer of sorts: a software engineer. Most of the technology in the Toymakers Guild series comes straight out of my imagination. I couldn’t wire a motor or machine a set of gears to save my life. But I do know what it’s like trying to deal with bugs in your programs when you’re facing a critical deadline. I understand the heavy burden of responsibility that comes with commitments that seem impossible to fulfill.

So, yes, Jill and I do share some traits and beliefs, though there’s more than a century between our worlds and half a century between our ages.  To me, though, she’s an independent individual – and after three novels, remarkably real. As an author, I’m amazed by the way characters develop over the course of writing a book. They begin as a sketch, perhaps borrowing from people we know (including ourselves), but before long they have lives of their own. Having followed her for more than three years and two hundred fifty thousand words, I know who Gillian Smith is. Honestly, though, I don’t know where she came from.

BLURB

How do you train a steampunk sexbot?

Gillian Smith’s promotion to journeyman proves she’s ready to lead the Toymakers in producing astonishing new erotic artifacts. Creative, brilliant, and debauched, she’ll stretch her capabilities to the limit as she juggles a talent shortage and a pair of jealous rivals. Then there’s the challenge of their latest commission—a life-sized programmable sex doll intended to replace a client’s deceased paramour.

Normally she would consult the enigmatic Master Toymaker, but he seems preoccupied with his own concerns. Though her lusty crew of sexual renegades can offer technical and carnal assistance, Gillian is ultimately responsible for delivering the promised, near-impossible technology.

It’s fortunate she’s not one to give up—not even when events threaten the Guild’s very survival.

 SERIES BLURB

Defying the repressive morality of the Victorian era, the Toymakers Guild uses advanced technology to fabricate bespoke sexual artifacts for the discrete pleasure of select clients. Its members are not only brilliant engineers but also sexual renegades seeking freedom from the prudish society that surrounds them. These are their stories.

X-Rated F/F Excerpt

When several knocks went unanswered, Gillian tried the knob. The door was unlocked. It opened upon a scene that set her pulse racing.

Spring sunshine poured in through the tall window, filling the room with a luminous glow. It shone like a spotlight upon the bed, where two female figures lay entwined. Lucy lay on top, stark naked. Sunbeams glinted off the golden locks that tumbled down her back. The graceful curve of her spine flowed down to her pert, round buttocks. Those luscious, peach-toned globes tensed and relaxed in a steady rhythm as she rubbed her cunny against the body beneath her.

Under Lucy’s writhing form, with her arms stretched out on both sides and her thighs spread wide, lay Emily. The former maid wore nothing but a shift. As Gillian watched, entranced, Lucy rose to her knees and pushed the thin linen garment up to bare Emily’s breasts. The sight of those perfect hemispheres made Gillian’s mouth water. Apparently they had a similar effect on Lucy, who leaned over to suckle on one dark, pouting nipple.

“Oh! Unh…” Emily sighed in inarticulate delight as Lucy feasted upon her flesh. “Oh, Loo-see…”

The flaxen-haired seductress licked slow circles around each taut nub, then slid down toward Emily’s little belly, leaving a trail of wet kisses. When she reached Emily’s cunny, she used her thumbs to open the sweet cleft and swept her tongue from back to front.

Emily yelped and arched up to maintain contact with Lucy’s agile tongue. Gillian shuddered in vicarious pleasure. Lucy squirmed backward to improve her angle of attack, then dove into her partner’s pussy, licking and sucking with a gusto that soon had Emily thrashing and moaning anew.

The girl twisted and tugged at her nipples as she humped Lucy’s face. Her braids came undone, the fine, ash-blond hair tangling on the pillow. Her inner thighs gleamed in the slanting afternoon sun, wet with Lucy’s saliva and her own copious juices.

Gillian’s breasts were swollen and tender. Her drawers were soaked, her clit a bright, burning coal. She couldn’t bear another instant of this detached surveillance.

After closing the door behind her, she placed the velvet bag on the dressing table and quickly stripped off her clothing. At first she thought the women were too involved with one another to notice her presence. Then Lucy raised her head from between Emily’s legs and flashed her a sticky-cheeked grin.

“Jill! Do you fancy a taste? Our Emily’s sweeter than Turkish delight.”

“You don’t mind?”

“Of course not. And I doubt Emily has any objections – do you, pumpkin?”

The ex-maid, who lay gasping upon the pillow, made no response, probably because she could not see Lucy’s face. Gillian stepped nearer to the head of the bed and leaned over to give the girl a quick kiss. Emily responded with enthusiasm, wrapping her arms around Gillian’s neck to pull her close and sliding an exploratory tongue between her lips.

Who taught her that? What had the girl been up to, while Gillian had been preoccupied with work and her feuding lovers?

On sale now! One Week to Win her Boss by Barbara White Daille #SweetRomance #Sale

Today I’m happy to welcome Barbara White Daille to our blog! Her sweet romance One Week to Win her Boss is on sale, now through January 4.

Adriana, thanks so much for hosting me at your blog, and Happy New Year to all!

One Week to Win Her Boss, sweet romance by Barbara White Daille

Book blurb

Single mom Amber Barnett loves family, kids, Christmas…and unfortunately, her boss, confirmed bachelor Michael DeFranco. It’s a crush she really needs to get over. Except, when she’s temporarily forced from her apartment, her only option is to stay at Michael’s private ski lodge, where she’s the housekeeper. No problem. Her handsome boss rarely visits Snowflake Valley unexpectedly, plus he’s spending the holidays with his family. Or so she thinks…

A stormy Christmas Eve reunion leaves Michael seeking the solitude of his lodge, where he finds Amber in residence—and in trouble. Attempting to save her from her matchmaking family, he announces they’re a couple. His good deed backfires when they’re instantly included in each and every holiday event in town. So much for solitude.

Only the more time he spends with the beautiful, cheery brunette, the more he yearns to make things real between them. But he and Amber want different things, and Michael could never be the family man she’s looking for.

Excerpt

Nobody was perfect, not even Michael. Though he sure looked darned close…but then, how would she know? Above all else, her time with her ex had proven she couldn’t trust her judgment when it came to men.

“Come back down to Earth, Amber.” She jumped. Michael stood in front of her, too close for comfort. “When you land, tell me why you’re here. And in your pajamas.”

His almost seductive growl did funny things to her insides. Too bad the question hadn’t slipped his mind, the way she’d forgotten what she was wearing—a floor-length, fuzzy, pink bathrobe that had seen better days and floppy-eared bunny slippers no one but she and Penny had ever seen. Nothing like making a fashion statement.

Hopefully, he would be more impressed by her response to his question—as soon as she thought of one. “I…um…didn’t ask if you would mind if I stayed here—”

“That’s obvious.”

“—because I didn’t expect you to drop in.”

“Twice as obvious.” His gaze ran over her from head to toe.

Her body flooded with heat she wished she could blame on the warm robe. Why couldn’t she and Penny have had somewhere—anywhere—else to stay? “What are you doing here, by the way?”

“I own the place.”

She rolled her eyes. “You said you were spending the holidays with your family.”

“Yeah. Huge mistake,” he said, sounding grim as he looked away.

What did that mean? She wanted to know more about his upset holiday plans and his visit with his family. She’d never met them and had always been curious about why they’d never visited the lodge. Besides, she wanted to know everything there was to know about Michael.

Way to get over that crush.

Time to take control of this situation. No matter how inconvenient his arrival was for her or how unsettling his presence was to her heart, the fact was, there he stood. If she wanted to save her job—and she absolutely did—she owed him an explanation.

Or at least part of one.

Always Cambridge by @AuthorHKCarlton #Sale #MafiaRomance #Suspense

Today I’m thrilled to welcome Kymmie Carlton back to our pages. I fell in love with the Always Cambridge series and its kick-ass heroine immediately, and I highly recommend the entire series, not just for all the characters you’ll root for, but also for all the unpredictable twists and turns in the story. You’ll never get bored!
Take it away, Kymmie!
~ o ~
Hello Everyone! Hope you had a Happy Christmas. Can you believe we are heading into a New Year? Wow! And what can you say about the last few years we’ve had? Here’s to a better 2023.

As we look forward though, it’s also a time for reflection and looking back. I’ve been thinking a lot lately of my first series, The Always Cambridge Saga. This story and characters have been with me a very long time. The series was published back in 2014, with a six month marathon of rapid release dates. A book a month, from April to September. Phew! It was a hectic time, for a fairly new author, but to finally share the story with readers was a dream come true.

Romantic Suspense, Mafia Romance, Family Saga, Organized Crime

The Always Cambridge Series chronicles the life of Holly Cambridge through her tumultuous childhood and violent teen years and the consequences that stem from being the daughter of mob boss, Bill Cambridge.

This story is a true saga and coming of age story, following Holly from the age of nine, through her violent teen years, and eventually into her forties. Each book starts where the last leaves off. The violence and sexual content amps up in later installments, reflecting Holly’s age as she matures and circumstances change. Holly evolves from a shy, young girl who only wishes to make the world a better place and perhaps atone for her father’s evil deeds, into a courageous warrior who will sacrifice her own life to protect the people she loves.

Our lucky heroine also has a trio of formidable men who weave their way in and out of her tumultuous life. Randy Phillips, her beloved body guard, Special Agent Alex Orton, from the FBI, and most surprisingly of all, Victor Mayhue, the son from a rival crime family. But Holly is no damsel in distress, she doesn’t need a man to swoop in and save her, no, she’s quite capable of taking care of herself. In fact, often she rescues them.

Always Cambridge : Book One

His only duty is to keep her safe, but he can’t save her…

Holly Cambridge is just a typical kid, or so she thinks, until one day, she takes a good look around and realizes her friends don’t have bodyguards dogging their every step.

At the age of sixteen, Holly is assigned a new bodyguard, Randy Phillips. He is a tall, muscular, God-like force in the young, impressionable and lonely girl’s life. He is her friend, her confident, her conscience, and the older man she adores beyond reason.

Randy Phillips is fully aware of his young charge’s adolescent crush on him. Although he is flattered by the adulation, he maintains a safe distance and professional demeanor until Holly is wounded in a rival family blood feud, and the course of both their lives is changed forever.

Excerpt from Always Cambridge, Book 1

Warning for Language and Violence

***This is the pivotal scene that changes everything for Holly and Randy

“Randy!”

Patrick appeared in the doorway of Cambridge’s office. I’d been sitting here all goddamn afternoon trying to figure out what was up with the computer system when all I wanted to do was get back to Holly. It was times like these that I realized I still had a lot to learn. Maybe I should have let her come with me. She would have diagnosed the problem and had it fixed by now. And she’d be with me and I wouldn’t be worried about her and my stomach wouldn’t hurt. I rubbed the back of my neck again trying to brush away the cold feeling.

“Randy! They’ve been hit.”

“Shit! Which patrol?” I asked still distracted. When Paddy didn’t answer right away I looked to where he stood in the door. He was pale and I could see him trembling from where I sat.

“Jeffy and Dale,” he answered gravely.

A cold hole punched into my chest. “Holly?”

He nodded once. “They’re all down.”

I raced past him, pulling on my coat as I ran. I jammed into the nearest car in the courtyard—a whole procession of them were ready to leave. “Hurry the f*ck up!” I yelled.

Everyone in the car was talking as we pulled away. I didn’t listen. I couldn’t. My head was buzzing. It was full of noise. My chest hurt. I felt cold but I could feel sweat beading on my forehead and running down my back.

Could we not go any f*ckin’ faster?

“Are the cops there?” someone asked.

“Yeah, cops are everywhere. EMTs are there too.”

I felt like I was going to jump out of my own skin. “Hurry the f*ck up,” I cursed at them as we came to a stop.

“F*ck off, Phillips. I’m goin’ as fast as I can. Traffics backed up because of the…”

I didn’t hear the rest. I couldn’t take it anymore. I bolted from the car and ran towards the food bank. About a block away, I was stopped by cops barring anyone entrance. They had barricades up and yellow tape to keep people out.

F*ck! I had to get to her. I should have been there!

I looked around. Down the alley. Up to the rooftops.

I pushed the guy in front of me hard, so he’d collide with the cop who wouldn’t let me through. While they wrestled, I sprinted down the alleyway, through the back door of the bakery, ran through the store and out the front door. Now I was on the inside of the barricades. There were people everywhere. I kept my head down, moving without being noticed.

The rest of the guys arrived at the cordoned off area. I heard the Cambridge name and the cops went into a f*ckin’ frenzy. I took off, using them as a distraction. There would be some arrests, I knew. We were armed for this war.

As I approached the food bank I saw broken glass everywhere. The plate glass windows were gone from every store in the vicinity, shattered. As I moved closer to the black Cambridge car I could see that it was riddled with bullet holes.

I saw Dale first. He was face down, his body half on the sidewalk, half on the road. Behind the car, a pool of blood ran like a rivulet down the crease between the curb and the road.

Holly! Her name resonated in my head.

Everything around me seemed to be moving in slow motion. Even me. I wanted to go faster but I couldn’t seem to get my body to catch up with my racing mind. The only thing I could hear was my own ragged breathing and my heartbeat drumming in my ears, and the blaring sirens off in the distance.

Holly!

Jeffy was on his back, closer to the building. The back of his head was gone.

Holly!

Trent lay face down on the sidewalk, his big body blocking the door of the food bank, as if he’d tried to put himself between the bullets and…Holly!

An ambulance was backed up against the curb, back doors wide open. Cops stood in front of the store entrance, taking pictures and numbering spent casings.

F*ck! They were all dead!

Holly!

I moved towards the door. I saw EMTs and a stretcher inside the building. One of the paramedics came to the door and said to a uniform, “We’re ready to transport. Can you move this guy so we can get out?”

“Yeah. I think we’ve got all the pictures we need. Just need a chalk line.”

“Hurry up, this one’s getting shocky,” came another voice from inside.

“Holly?” Was that my voice?

“You can’t go in there?” said one cop.

“How’d you get here?” asked the other.

Mrs. Small was just inside the door holding a bandage to her head. Her shirt and face were covered in blood. I pushed at the cop, suddenly more frantic than ever to get in there. The clawing inside my chest was gonna blow. The cop held me back.

“Holly!” I roared.

“Please let him through,” Mrs. Small cried. “He’s the young lady’s young man. She needs him. Please.”

“We can’t let you in there. You’ll contaminate our crime scene.”

“Oh, God!” My head swam. My vision tunneled. Crime scene. “Please!” My own voice echoed in my head. “Please. Just tell me. Tell me she’s not dead!”

#New from @LisabetSarai ~ Once Upon a Blizzard: A Bisexual Holiday Romance

Lisabet Sarai has a new holiday release, and it looks yummy!

New England Nostalgia

For the past two decades I’ve resided in the tropics of Southeast Asia, but before we moved here, my husband and I lived in a rural town in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. The region offers fantastic natural beauty, wonderful local food, and a culture of easy-going individualism that suited us well. However, it also requires a certain level of fortitude from its inhabitants. One spends a significant amount of time and effort dealing with the environment: battling undergrowth, pulling weeds, raking leaves, shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, installing or removing storm windows and snow tires, checking the anti-freeze in the radiator and the oil in the furnace tank, storing summer clothing while exhuming winter garb and vice versa, catching and evicting mice and squirrels, and so on. Folks in the Pioneer Valley have to be tough.

New England winters are not as cold as some parts of the U.S., like Wisconsin or Minnesota, but they’re far less predictable. I can remember sixty degree weather on Christmas Eve in some years, temperatures below zero in others. Ice storms are a real menace; one year an ice-laded bough snapped off one of our trees and thoroughly crushed the roof of my car. Then there was the morning I skidded on a snowy road on my way to work and rammed into a tree,   crumpling the front end like tin foil. Scary indeed.

No, New England was not for the faint of heart. After the easy life here in Asia, I can’t imagine ever going back.

Nevertheless, I have incredibly vivid memories of New England’s unique charms and I do find myself becoming nostalgic. One of the joys of being a writer that I can channel this nostalgia into my stories.

Once Upon a Blizzard draws heavily from my own experience. The farm house occupied by Gino and Harris is based on the home of our close neighbor (although they didn’t have a hot tub in their back yard). The crispness of the winter air, the clarity of the winter sky, the distant clank of the snow plows when they finally arrive – I’ve been there.

The strangely freeing experience of being snowed in, without electricity, heat or running water is something I remember well. It’s almost like a holiday. Time is suspended. You’re forced to let go. You’ll get dug out, eventually. You’re not that worried, because of course you’re prepared with wood for the fireplace, propane for the stove, candles and flash lights. That’s just how New Englanders are.

My heroine in Once Upon a Blizzard grew up in the Pioneer Valley, but she has been working in Silicon Valley for a decade. In writing this story I was rediscovering, with her, the special magic of New England.

BLURB

No electricity. No water. Plenty of heat.

Suzanne and Gino have a history going back to high school, but for more than a decade the workaholic CEO has been thousands of miles from her New England home town.

A mistletoe kiss at a Christmas party rekindles the old spark and Suzanne finds some things do indeed get better with age. When Gino rescues her from a blizzard, though, she discovers that she’s not the only love in his life. Gino shares his bed and his colonial-era farm house with taciturn painter Harris Steele.

Snowed in with two lusty men who truly seem to care, she wonders why she’s so determined to return to her lonely West Coast life. Is there really a chance for a holiday happy ending?

X-RATED EXCERPT (MMF)

Harris urged Gino onto his hands and knees, crosswise on the king-sized bed. Kneeling behind, he pulled the globes of Gino’s butt apart and wiggled his fingers back into the hole between them. “Still loose and juicy,” he commented.

“Oh, yeah,” breathed Gino. “Take me, lover.”

Harris stroked his cock a few times then placed the knob against stretched ring of muscle and pushed. He held Gino open so that Suzanne could see the rigid length of flesh disappearing inch by inch into Gino’s back passage.

“Oh, God!” Gino gasped as Harris filled him.

“Oh God!” echoed Suzanne, as her pussy clenched and her rear hole twitched with sympathetic pleasure.

Harris grasped Gino’s hips and pumped his cock in and out. Gino relaxed and let Harris take him over. Gino’s swollen cock jutted underneath him, bouncing against his belly each time Harris thrust into his ass. Suzanne ached to feel that bulk inside her. But she was the guest here—this was Harris’ turf and she had to let him call the shots.

She slipped two fingers into her wet sex, hoping that the men wouldn’t mind, and frigged herself in time with Harris’ strokes. As Harris picked up speed, she did also, skirting close to the edge of climax. Then she backed off. She wanted to come with Gino inside her. She only hoped she’d get the chance soon.

Harris paused as if he had read her mind. He shifted position, kneeling back onto his heels and dragging Gino, still impaled, onto his lap. Gino’s thighs splayed out on either side of his lover’s. His erection pointed straight at the ceiling.

“Climb on,” Harris instructed. “We’ll see if he can handle both of us.”

Suzanne didn’t need a second invitation. She clambered over to their joined bodies, squatted above Gino’s tempting bulk and settled down, swallowing him with her pussy.

Gino gasped as her heat enfolded him. He grabbed her shoulders, pulling her into a frantic kiss. Meanwhile, Harris flexed his thighs and drove his cock up into Gino’s ass. The force sent Gino’s rod deeper into Suzanne’s body. Suzanne rocked in Gino’s lap, her hands on his shoulders, her feet braced against Harris’ thighs. The blond man didn’t seem to mind. He just picked up the pace, ramming hard and fast into Gino’s body and sending Gino’s cock careening into her body in reaction.

Gino looked dazed. His lips were parted, hoarse breath forced out with each thrust. His hair was plastered on his sweaty forehead. Harris clasped him around the waist with strong, wiry arms. Every so often Suzanne felt the artist’s long fingers circle the base of Gino’s cock and give it a squeeze, brushing her cunt lips in the process and sending high voltage sizzling up her spine.

ABOUT LISABET SARAI

I became addicted to words at an early age. I began reading when I was four. I wrote my first story at five years old and my first poem at seven. Since then, I have written plays, tutorials, scholarly articles, marketing brochures, software specifications, self-help books, press releases, a five-hundred page dissertation, and lots of erotica and erotic romance – more than fifty single author titles, plus dozens of short stories in various erotic anthologies, including the Lambda winner Where the Girls Are and the IPPIE Best Erotic Book of 2011, Carnal Machines. My gay scifi erotic romance Quarantine won a Rainbow Awards 2012 Honorable Mention.

I have more degrees than anyone would ever need, from prestigious educational institutions who would no doubt be deeply embarrassed by my chosen genre. Travel is one of my passions. I’ve visited every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Currently I live in Southeast Asia with my indulgent husband of more than thirty years and two exceptional felines, where I pursue an alternative career that is completely unrelated to my creative writing.

One Lonely Christmas Eve, by Tim Smith #HolidayRomance #EroticRomance

My blog guest today is fellow Extasy author Tim Smith, here with a holiday romance you won’t want to miss:

I’m pleased to share my most recent holiday Stocking Stuffer romance from Extasy Books, One Lonely Christmas Eve. This is a bittersweet love story about two friends who try to come up with a cure for the holiday blues.

This story was inspired by some real experiences. I’ve always looked forward to the holidays, but when I came up with this idea, I found myself in a dark place. I was between relationships, and quarantine overshadowed a family Christmas gathering, I was still making the adjustment to early retirement, and I dreaded the idea of spending the holiday alone. Thanks to a good friend I didn’t have to, but that was the jumping off point. I also used this to relive some past holidays, because I was feeling nostalgic. This opening scene is based on an actual occurrence that happened to me a few years ago

BLURB

Christmas can be a lonesome time of year, especially when you have no one special to share it with. Alex March stops at his favorite diner on Christmas Eve to avoid going home to an empty apartment, but that isn’t the only reason. He really wants to see Denise Del Florio, the attractive widow of one of his best friends, who is dreading her first solo holiday. In the year since her husband was killed, Alex has been there for her, and they’ve developed a close friendship. He feels a nostalgic longing for holidays gone by and thinks that together, he and Denise can provide a remedy for their mutual loneliness. Will they still be besties when the holiday is over, or will they have moved on to something more serious?

EXCERPT

Alex sipped his coffee, then glanced at the clock mounted on the wall behind the cash register in the nearly empty restaurant. He stared at his reflection in the front window and absently raked his fingers through his thick brown hair. 6:45, and it’s pitch-black outside. Not that much traffic, either, especially in here. Guess most people have had their pre-holiday dinner and gone to church, or decided to pack it in for the evening to wait for Santa by the fireplace. I should do the same, but I don’t really want to go home to an empty apartment.

Denise Del Florio approached inside the counter, with a glass coffee pot in hand. “Refill, Alex?”

Alex’s gaze traveled from her head to her feet then back up again, taking in her trim form encased in snug black slacks and a white shirt with a name tag. Her light brown hair with blonde highlights was pulled into a ponytail and a few wisps carelessly hung over her face. Her hazel eyes seemed to take on an extra bit of sparkle when she looked at him. “Thanks, but I’ve had enough for one night.”

She exhaled a deep breath. “Good decision. We’re getting ready to close, and this stuff would take the paint off your car.” She stretched. “I’m definitely ready to get off my feet after today.”

“I’m surprised you aren’t busier.”

Denise poured herself some coffee, then took a sip. “You should’ve been here earlier. It was non-stop from lunchtime on. People stopped in for their holiday pie orders and decided to eat while they were here.”

“Sounds hectic.”

She shrugged. “I didn’t really mind. It kept me busy, and I made a fortune in tips.”

Alex laughed. “I figured that’s why you volunteered to work the holiday shift.”

Denise gave a shy smile and cast her gaze downward briefly. “I keep forgetting what a good detective you are.”

He finished his coffee. “It wasn’t hard to figure out, Denise. I suspected you didn’t mind working tonight for the same reason I’m not going home yet.”

She looked into his eyes for a moment. “I’m not ready to face an empty house, especially this holiday.”

“The first one alone is always the hardest.”

She was silent for a few moments. “How long did it take for you to…”

“Still working on it,” he finished. “I’ve been divorced for eight years, and there are some holidays I don’t look forward to. But I know it’s different in your case.”

She drank some coffee. “Yeah, you could say that. Divorce is one thing to adjust to, but losing your life partner in the line of duty is something else.” She paused. “Is that why you’re here tonight?”

“Where else would I be?”

“I heard you’ve been seeing someone. Thought you’d be with them.”

“So happens the young lady is spending the holidays in Louisville with her family. Why do you think I only came here to check up on you?”

“Because I know you, Alex. You and Tony were close friends before you had to leave the police department. Even after you went private, you kept in touch and you were there for me when he got killed earlier this year.”

He cast his gaze down. “Guilty as charged. Maybe I was worried about you.”

Denise placed her hand on his and squeezed. “I appreciate that, more than you know. You gave me a shoulder to lean on when I needed it, and you’ve been there ever since. That means a lot.”

Alex felt embarrassed. “Come on, Denise. I was just doing the right thing. Tony and I were patrol partners before I became a detective, and we were fishing and drinking buddies. I always thought of him as one of my best friends.”

“He was.” She flashed a playful smile. “Hey, I’ve got an idea. I’m alone, you’re alone, and neither of us is in a hurry to get home tonight. Think we can find someplace where two good friends can have a drink?”

Alex brought her hand to his lips, then kissed it. “I think there must be someplace out there that caters to people with nowhere to go on a lonely night like this.”

I’m thrilled to welcome Donna Del Oro to the blog today – her comedy-suspense novel Saving La Familia is on sale at Extasy Books, 40% off.

SAVING LA FAMILIA BY DONNA DEL ORO
WINNER OF THE SILVER FALCHION AWARD 2022
FOR BEST COMEDY-SUSPENSE NOVEL!

BLURB

A scrappy Latina teacher, Dina Salazar, is recruited by her Mexican-born grandmother to save her cousins who are hiding from a dangerous Mexican drug cartel. Being an amateur sleuth is no picnic, so Dina enlists the help of a Hispanic DEA agent, her best friend and fellow teacher, her screwball brother-in-law, and her hated ex-fiance, Rick Ramos.

Crossing the Texas border into Zeta territory is the most dangerous thing she’s ever done—aside from falling in love with the hated Rick—but heck, what’s a girl to do when “la familia” calls?

REVIEWS

“One of the best comedy suspense books I’ve ever read!”—Harriet Fox, author

“Chuckled all the way through this book!”—J.T. Mrizek, graphic designer

“Thoroughly entertaining! “—Keyes Lloyd, reader and fan

EXCERPT

How did I, in three short months, get to the heart of my Mexican-American family? It wasn’t easy, believe me. Especially since I was the family’s desgraciada. The disgraced one. Ever since I turned eighteen and had my legal name changed from Dolores—which means aches and pains in Spanish—to Dina. My namesake, Grandma Dolores Gómez, refused to speak to me or acknowledge my existence for about a year after the name change. Before that, I was simply the family brat and rebel. The know-it-all.

But you see, Grandma was the heart of the matter. And the big, dark secrets she kept closed up in her heart all got exposed in those tumultuous months. And before I could blink and realize what was happening, I was roped into a scheme to rescue cousins I never knew I had out of the deadly clutches of a Mexican drug cartel. Why was I chosen, you ask? Me, Dina Salazar, the desgraciada? A single schoolteacher with a long line of loser-boyfriends? How did I end up looking up the barrel of a cartel commando’s automatic weapon? Come along with me and I’ll tell you.

It took five years—six, counting my teaching credential—to work my way through college and, oh yeah, I lost my fiancé along the way—according to Mama and Abuelita, my only chance at happiness. Their idea of happiness meant you married young, spent the next twenty years changing diapers, cooking and cleaning for a man you seldom saw because he was working two or three jobs to pay for all the mouths you’d brought into the world…

¡Gracias a Dios!

Horrors, in my opinion.

December Birthdays, Bedazzled Evergreens, and a Book Blast from the Past—Guest @AuthorHKCarlton #EroticRomance #Sale

Today I’m thrilled to welcome fellow eXtasy Books author H K Carlton to our blog. If you love erotic romance suspense thrillers, do check out her Cambridge series, which features one of the best kick-ass heroines I’ve known. But that’s nothing to do with Christmas and why she’s here today – a holiday celebration of a somewhat different nature…

Are there any December babies in the house today? Make sure to leave us a comment below if you are. I’m one of those kids born in the month of December. 🎈 The Kymmie me, that is. (Though if you read my author bio on certain sites my birthday might be listed as August. That’s because the author me, H K Carlton, wasn’t born until my first book was published, August 27, 2012). 😉

I know some of the Sagittarius/Capricorn crowd have issues with their birthday falling in December, feeling perhaps a bit cheated, especially when that date falls on or about the 25th. I’m not one of those people. My lovely mama always made me feel special. 🎂

When I was really young, I had pizza parties with my schoolmates. We had cake and presents, none of which were Christmas-themed or wrapped in festive paper. The one holiday tradition my parents did adhere to every year though was that the Christmas tree didn’t go up until my b’day, even when my siblings begged them to put it up early. It wasn’t lost on me, that my brother and sisters didn’t get a bedazzled evergreen raised on their birthdays. And though I did recognize and respect the symbolism and true significance of the Christmas tree, the fact that my mum and dad waited to put it up, made me feel extra special. And I still adhere to that tradition with my own family. 🎄

Our heroines from Xmas Spouse Swap, Iris and Siri, are also December babies.

Meet the twins who take share and share alike to a whole new level…

Separated at the age of sixteen by selfish battling parents going through a bitter divorce, twin sisters Iris and Siri Beaulieu vow to never be apart on Christmas Eve, which is also their birthday.

Now grown and married and perhaps a bit bored with their husbands, the twins decide to give each other the ultimate birthday present, by switching identities.

One tipsy Christmas Eve leads to a twin swap the husbands will never forget.

How’s that for a Merry Christmas to all?

Excerpt:

Iris downed what was left in her wine glass before topping up all four goblets.

Brett and Kyle continued to toss ornaments on the tree as Siri joined her by the counter. Siri snagged her glass and took a long swallow.

“You okay?” Siri asked.

“Mmm hmm,” Iris answered.

“You still wanna do what we talked about?”

“Mmm hmm.”

“Tonight’s the night? All or bust?” Siri crooked her pinkie finger.

Without hesitation, Iris curled her baby digit around her sister’s. “Pinkie swear,” she whispered.

“Happy birthday, sista-mine.” Siri winked conspiratorially.

“What’s up, ladies?” Brett asked, suddenly towering over them.

“Nothing,” Siri shrugged and guzzled her drink.

“Doesn’t look like nothing to me,” Kyle interjected, joining them. “Do you think they’re up to something, Brett?”

“Guaranteed. Especially when they’ve resorted to the old pinkie swear. That means it’s serious business.”

“We merely wished each other a happy birthday,” Siri said.

It wasn’t a lie. If things worked out, they were giving each other the ultimate gift.

EXCERPT

CHAPTER ONE

“Why can’t I find anything in this purse!” For the third time, Jasmine shook her large shoulder hobo for the key to the yoga studio. But there was no teltale jingle. Her boss, Keith, would be cranky if she opened late. As a wannabe social media influencer in the yoga world, Keith was on top of his clients’ every desire.

Jasmine resisted the urge to dump her purse out on the sidewalk and sift through the jumble. But that wouldn’t do, not on this prime shopping street in the lower Queen Anne district of Seattle. No, she had to head home and hope the key was on the entry table in her apartment.

Just great! Now she had to pray that the traffic gods of GPS would be merciful. She turned on her heel and ran back to the parking garage. At least it wasn’t drizzling for once; a pleasant exception in rainy Washington state.

Rambo, her black standard poodle, had already been dropped off at the dog sitter. That was one thing to be thankful for. Fifteen minutes later, she pulled up in front of her apartment building. Ignoring the no parking sign, she left her emergency lights flashing and sprinted up the stairs. On the third landing, she stopped briefly to catch her breath. You should be used to living on the fourth floor by now,  she scolded herself. Not to mention that she taught yoga for a living.

She straightened her back, ready to tackle the last flight of stairs.

Thump!  The noise came from overhead, the direction of her floor, followed by the murmur of voices. She narrowed her eyes. Her boyfriend Gavin was home, that was expected.

But company this early? It was a miracle Gavin was out of bed at ten a.m. A thought popped into her head; was another woman with him? Please, please no.  She fervently hoped there was an innocent explanation for the noises coming from her apartment. The last thing she wanted was to catch Gavin cheating.

With a queasy feeling in her stomach, Jasmine crept up the stairs. She was glad she was wearing sneakers as usual. Not very fancy, perhaps, as Gavin always liked to remind her, but unlike high-heeled shoes, the sneakers didn’t make a sound on the floor of the stairwell. She could make a near-silent approach. When she arrived on her floor, the voices were clear. They didn’t sound female. Those were men’s voices. Maybe Gavin’s friends had made an uncharacteristic early call. Her inner clock chimed, reminding her there was no time to lose if she wanted to make it back to the yoga studio on time. Going to open the door, she noticed it was ajar. That’s why she could hear the voices so well. What the heck?  Her thoughts were interrupted when Gavin spoke up.

“I told you, no personal contact. The risk—someone who knows me could see you.

Surely you’re aware of that.”

“That was before you failed. We don’t like fails.”

She did not know this voice.

“Not printing on time—big fail,” agreed a second unfamiliar voice. “You made this a personal visit, dude.”

The uneasy feeling in her stomach intensified, and hairs on the back of her neck stood up.

“Listen, you’ll get the real money.” That was Gavin’s voice and he sounded nervous. “I just need a few more days and I’ll have my girlfriend soft-boiled. I know she has cash, the real stuff, sitting in an account that she doesn’t need.”

Money she didn’t need? Jasmine’s cheeks grew pink with anger. That money was exactly three thousand dollars and eighty-seven cents. She’d saved it over two years of working nights, weekends, and days off at the homes of well-heeled clients, teaching them yoga and relaxation techniques. It was a little nest egg for herself and Gavin in case things got tough. Or they wanted to start a family. Which Gavin obviously didn’t want, if he was so free about dispensing her money to strangers. Fortunately, she’d had enough sense to follow her grandma’s advice to save it in a separate account.

The first strange voice snapped her out of her thoughts and made her blood run cold.

“We launder at flea markets and farmers markets, dude. The stuff needs to be printed in time before the weekend starts. You want to walk in with a twenty, buy something for a buck, and get the real stuff in change. If you’re gonna launder, you got to make the stuff on time.”

A twenty? Launder? Did he mean money laundering? Fake money? As in counterfeiting?

How had Gavin gotten involved in this? She leaned forward to listen. The overstuffed hobo on her shoulder tipped forward and bumped into the door. It swung open. Three pairs of men’s eyes shot over at her. Two bull-necked strangers radiated malice out of every pore. They didn’t look like they’d shaven for a couple of days. Maybe the last time they’d seen a shower was even longer. Gavin looked annoyed.

“Oh, hello everyone. I’ll be right back, just have to get something,” she said in a put-on cheerful voice. Friendly. Naive. Harmless. They had to buy that, didn’t they?

“What are you doing here? I thought you’d be at work by now!” Gavin’s frightened voice offered no reassurance.

“That’s no way to talk to your girlfriend,” Stranger Voice No. 1 chided Gavin, giving a snarling smile that made Jasmine’s stomach turn.

“What a happy coincidence,” Stranger Voice No. 2 agreed. “Now we can settle the real money thing. Always happy to help solve problems.” He cracked his knuckles to demonstrate.

Uh-oh. Retreat!  screamed all the alarm systems inside Jasmine. The key to the studio lost all importance. She took two cautious steps backward.

“Hey! This little one’s gonna split! Stop her!” shouted Stranger Voice No. 1, reaching behind his back to pull a frighteningly real-looking pistol from his waistband. Gavin seemed frozen, he made no move to stop anything. Jasmine never expected Gavin to be a knight in shining armor, but she never expected a wet dishrag either.

It was one against three and every woman for herself. Jasmine dashed out of the apartment and raced down the stairs as if all the hounds of hell were on her heels. She was quick and agile thanks to years of training and her small, slender stature. Unlike the two gorillas chasing her, who were cursing loudly and bumbling on the stairs. She covered the four floors in no time, gaining precious seconds.

On the ground floor, she flew out the door and jumped into her old car, which she had fortunately forgotten to lock. As the two thugs piled out of the building entrance, she drove off, tires squealing.

A few streets away, Jasmine slowed to the legal speed limit and tried to get her thoughts in order. She still couldn’t quite grasp what she had just witnessed. Her live-in boyfriend, Gavin, involved in a counterfeit money scheme? She broke out in a sweat thinking of his cold stare while the two guys were about to grab her. But what if this wasn’t anything like it seemed?

Gavin was her boyfriend. Maybe there was a reason for his reaction.

While she was driving along, torn with conflict and confusion, her phone started to ring.

With one hand she dumped the hobo upside down so everything tumbled out on the passenger seat. The cell phone buzzed at her, its screen blinking “Gavin.” She pushed Speaker, but all she heard was scuffling and static. Then the signal died.

Her attention turned back to the road. In a panic, she had blindly crisscrossed the neighborhood. Should she contact the police? At the next street corner, she saw a sign for a police station. An empty parking space seemed waiting for this occasion and helped her decide.

She pulled the car in and sat for a moment with the engine running, taking a deep breath. It was like being in the wrong movie!

Jasmine shook herself like a wet cat and reached for her purse. Before stepping out, she took a good look at the entrance to the police station—and stopped. Out the door came none other than Gavin, engaged in a friendly conversation with a police officer. She took her hand off the door handle and huddled deeper into the car seat. She was half a block down—it wasn’t like her car was directly in sight. She watched as the two patted each other on the back in male solidarity. As the officer stepped back inside the building, Gavin’s gaze roamed the area, looking for something. Her? Had he known she’d go to the police? If what just happened was innocent, what was Gavin doing schmoozing a police officer? The timing was odd, very odd.

Jasmine pulled her head down even further. A surge of adrenaline made the blood rush in her ears. Cautiously, she peered over the dashboard and saw Gavin walk over to a waiting car.

Stranger Voice No. 1 and 2 were in the front seat. Gavin got in the back.

What was she supposed to make of what she had just seen? She had no idea if corruption was an issue in the ranks of the Seattle Police Department. But seeing Gavin speaking directly to a cop as thugs 1 and 2 looked on halted her decision to report the incident right now. Especially parked right outside the police station, where they seemed to be waiting for her to show up.

Jasmine rubbed her temples; the whole thing was crazier by the second. She was a peace-loving person, she abhorred violence. Nor did she have any secret fantasies of being a heroine.

She was absolutely not made for that. She gritted her teeth. Time for a new plan.

When the gun guys and Gavin left the parking lot and disappeared around the block, she picked her cell phone out of the pile underneath her purse and called Pat, a longtime friend whom she trusted one hundred percent.

When Pat answered on the other end, her heart lifted. “Hey Pat, listen, I need your help. Can you pick up Rambo for me at Kathrina’s Dog Sitting?”

“Sure,” he answered promptly. Fortunately, Pat was self-employed and had the freedom to slip away now and then. “What’s the matter? Your voice sounds like you just finished a sprint.”

“Almost. I’ll explain everything later. Meet me at Westcrest Dog Park in two hours?”

Pat seemed to accept that he’d get no more info out of her for now. Relieved, she lowered her shoulders, which, she noticed, were pulled up almost to her ears from the tension.

“See you later.” She ended the call. Whew.  Time to move on to the next problem. Soon, she was on the freeway heading south. The destination was a shopping center on the outskirts of Seattle. Gavin would certainly not expect to find her there.

A few impulse purchases later included a big sack of dog chow with rice, sweet potatoes, and wild game, plus an important visit to the bank, Jasmine collapsed on a bench outside the shopping center eating a veggie dog. After devouring the last bite and wiping her hands on a napkin, she reached for the phone again.

“Hello, Nana!”

“Granddaughter! Jaz! Well, this is a pleasant surprise!”

Jasmine laughed tensely.

“When are you coming to visit me? The weather is getting nice.”

“I was thinking, like, two, three days.”

When her grandmother didn’t answer right away, she added the question, “I can sleep on the couch. Any spot will do. Or is now not a good time?”

“It’s always a good time,” her grandmother hastened to assure her. Jasmine heard Nana take a deep breath on the other end. “It’s just that I don’t live at my house anymore. The place got lonely over last winter, and Nadine invited me to come and spend a few weeks at her place nearby. I guess you could say staying with her got to be a habit.”

“That was the smart thing to do, Nana.”

“My house has been empty but I never turned off the power. I was just waiting for . . .

well, I don’t know what I was waiting for. You’re welcome to stay there. The keys are where they’ve always been. Come whenever you want.”

“Thank you, Nana. It wil be so great to get away.” She made a face at the double meaning of “get away,” glad her grandmother couldn’t see her in person. If Nana only knew the getaway she was making! Jasmine made a bit more small talk and ended the call.

Her thoughts jumped to Keith and the studio. It was way past opening time, he’d be in soon. She made a quick call to Caitlin, the next instructor on the schedule, and fudged a bit of truth, saying she’d been called away suddenly by a family mat er. Could Caitlin go over to the studio early and meet Keith there? He had his own key, and the boss would have to figure out what to do after that. He was constantly complaining about the rising cost of contractors, so unfortunately he could pay her little more than minimum wage. Yet he wouldn’t have a business at all if she didn’t take care of all the lessons while he gave private sessions to female customers in particular need of enlightenment—mostly married women. She was just a part-time freelancer at the studio, no employment contract, therefore no notice period.

Truthfully, Seattle was starting to lose its appeal. Not its proximity to the Pacific, of course. She was sure she would miss the ocean. But the city and its accompanying hustle and bustle were getting on her nerves. A change of scenery might do her and Rambo some good while she got to the bot om of this Gavin fiasco. Whether she was in real danger or whether she wasn’t, Grandma had always said never to take chances. Get to a safe place first and let everything else take care of itself.

So, off to Independence, Colorado—a small town in the Rocky Mountains.

Will you fall in love with this Rocky Mountain town like Jasmine and
Rambo?

Synopsis

Matt Sullivan knows he met someone special the night he spots the sexy man on the dance floor. However, he doesn’t know his life is about to change forever. First of all, Matt is straight. Okay, maybe not, but he doesn’t think falling in love and spending the rest of his life with a hotheaded, unapologetically fabulous diva is an option.

Aaron Mendez is confident, smart, and very comfortable in his skin. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go for it. And though he might have reservations about falling for someone newly out of the closet, no one has ever looked at Aaron the way Matt does.

Navigating a relationship has its challenges, but both Matt and Aaron are willing to deal with difficult parents, holiday blues, and learning curves. They know their happy ever after is worth fighting for and that true love is better than good.

*No/low angst, sexy fun! This collection of short stories follows the lives of Matt and Aaron from my first novel, Better Than Good. The end of one chapter is the beginning of a whole new story from ordinary everyday life to an engagement, a wedding, and more. This collection is dedicated to Matt and Aaron fans and those who believe that the real love story happens after the first “I love you”.

Better Than Beginnings Excerpt- From Better Than Wedding

“What’s Saturday?”

“A no-work day. And we’re meeting with our wedding planner. I was worried his ideas would be too pricey, but Vic will be thrilled when I tell him you agreed to spare no expense on the reception.”

“That doesn’t sound like something I’d say,” I huffed, blowing on a spoonful of chili, then taking a bite. “Mmm. This is delicioso.”

Gracias. Well, someone who looks and sounds a lot like you just agreed to a unicorn ice sculpture at our reception,” he deadpanned.

I snorted. “Yeah, right. You can’t use anything I say in the last few seconds of a playoff game against me.”

“Does that mean no to two champagne fountains too?” He snickered at my stone-faced expression as he reached for his wine. “Fair enough, but you’d better start weighing in before I’m tempted to do something crazy. This isn’t just my wedding, it’s our wedding.”

I turned to fully face him. “I thought we were set. We have a date, a place, and a minister. We agreed on invitations, and we even talked about our honeymoon. What am I missing?”

“The details, Matty! All the details.” Aaron flashed an incredulous look at me and smacked his hand on the island. “Look, you’re busy at work, and I know the last things you think about are table decor and cake toppers, but I’m busy too and I can’t stop thinking about them. And then my head explodes with more choices like roses or lilies, chocolate ganache or buttercream, and don’t even get me started on the seating arrangements. It’s making me crazy!”

“I can see that.” I chuckled and set my spoon aside, snaking my arm around his waist when he glared at me. “Hey, I’m kidding. Tell me what you want me to do. How about if I choose the flowers?”

“Oh, no. Definitely not. I know you too well, Matty. You’d wait until the last minute, then either ask your secretary or my future monster-in-law to help and there’s no way in hell I’d—”

“Hey. No need to get nasty here.” I threaded my fingers through his and kissed the platinum band on his left ring finger.

“I’m sorry. I know I told you I’d handle things, but you’re kind of strict about the budget.”

“One of us has to be if we want to buy—”

“I know.” Aaron leaned against me and kissed my shoulder. “I think it’s a great idea, but the problem is that you don’t really understand how much things are. You need to be part of some of the major decisions, so you get the picture. I have a proposition to make.”

“Oh, boy. What did you do, and how much is it going to cost?” I asked, slipping his glass from his hand and taking a healthy swig.

“Ha. Ha. I didn’t do anything. Yet. But let’s be real—this whole thing is going to cost a fortune, but it’ll be worth it. I’ve already done the bulk of the research, and Vic is a great resource, but I still think we should have a weekly powwow so I can go over things with you before we meet the wedding planner. So we don’t waste time or veer off course…because yes, Vic really did ask how my fiancé felt about a caviar bar.”

“Oh, my God.” I set the glass down and gulped.

“Don’t worry, Papi. I told him it wasn’t your style. But gosh, I could easily get talked into a champagne fountain. It sounds romantic, doesn’t it?”

“No.”

Aaron snickered at my quick reply and gestured for me to eat. “See the problem? I promise I won’t make any rash decisions, but I need your input on some things if we’re going to make it to the altar without you wringing my neck when I’m ten thousand dollars over—”

“Ten thousand!” My jaw dropped as I widened my eyes comically.

“Calm down. I’m innocent. I’ve been so good it hurts,” he said with a sigh. “But if something is going to hurt, it should be in a good way. And preferably with an orgasm or two. Don’t you agree?” Aaron lowered his hand and rubbed his palm over my half-hard cock.

“Y-yeah.”

“We should have our husband-to-be chats once a week to discuss our plans.”

I lifted my hips slightly and cupped his neck to bring him closer. “Good idea.”

“But you’ll have to give me your undivided attention,” he purred as he pulled at the elastic bands of my shorts and boxer briefs. Then he slipped his fingers under the fabric and grabbed my dick. “I don’t want to compete with basketball, baseball, or anything else. It’ll be a special date. Just me and you.”

“Mmm. Yes.” I licked the corner of his mouth, pulled his pajamas and boxer briefs down, and kneaded his ass.

“We can be flexible about the day and time,” he said in a throaty tone, nipping my jaw as he stroked me from base to tip.

“What about location?” I asked, tracing his crack with my middle finger.

“Yes. Anywhere is fine.”
