BLURB

Desperate for a crash course in lovemaking, Bobbi Jo Martin seeks out her childhood best friend. A successful contractor with NASCAR dreams, Jack Day has never forgotten her—but how will he protect his heart?  In a moment of sheer genius he decides to play the role of master…

EXCERPT

Here are seven sentences – gotta love this sexy man!

Bobbi Jo glanced up to see Jack enter, and her heartbeat quickened. His dark hair, damp from the shower, curled over a dark green T-shirt that clung to his chest like it was glued on. There was no flab. He’d tucked the shirt into an equally tight fitting pair of dark jeans—worn, but clean. She avoided dropping her gaze to his waist.

His dark eyes were also appraising her. She blinked.

Coming in January in the Boxed Set Bring on the Heat – our steamy ménage novella Cherry Tune-Up!

BLURB

EXCERPT

Bobbi Jo Martin hung back in the shadows under the Highway Thirty-Seven Racetrack stands. Acrid smoke, fumes and dust from a long night of racing swirled in the hazy light but couldn’t entirely block her view of her childhood best friend. There he was, Jack Day, strutting toward a red pickup with a buxom brunette hanging on each arm. She cringed—they must be the spoils that went to the winner of the feature race.

Deflated, Bobbi Jo shuffled toward her rental car. She’d had no contact with Jack for nearly ten years, but she just knew he’d help her with her current problem. When they were kids, he had never, ever let her down.

My Sexy Saturday

Cassie’s Hope has just been released at Amazon.com and already has a five star review!

EXCERPT

As they walked to Cassie’s horse, Clint felt her tug at his arm to stop him. She scanned the starry sky. She seemed to stop breathing for a long moment.

“Damn,” she said in a hushed tone, hugging herself, “we don’t see a sky like that in Chicago. Looks like you could pluck your own personal star.”

“Yeah, it’s fantastic. I never tire of watching Father Sky change hour by hour and season by season. Here, put this on,” he offered, taking his heavy jacket and draping it around her shoulders. “Wyoming evening air can get nippy.”

“Thanks,” she said, shuddering. He watched her breathe deeply. He’d swear she was savoring his scent. Abruptly, she scurried toward Hope’s stall.

Clint lengthened his stride to keep up, painfully aware of her sensuality. While unable to read her thoughts, he sensed the electricity pulsating between them. He’d been attracted to the firebrand since he first saw her rear end sticking out beside her filly as she bent over a hoof. But now he was having second thoughts.

Cassie O’Hanlon had beware of danger written all over her. He doubted she’d had many casual relationships.

If he didn’t watch it, he was going to willingly fall into a snare large enough for any man, and he didn’t even know who’d set the trap. Was it her? Was it him? Was it the universe? This woman wouldn’t be satisfied with just sex. And he certainly needed no emotional entanglements, particularly with a temperamental woman from the big city.

BLURB

What happens when a fiercely loyal widowed half-Ute cowboy meets a fiery redhead with an Irish temper to match? Cassidy O’Hanlon – Cassie, to her friends – has set aside her Chicago career for six months to train racehorses for her dad after his stroke.

Furious the interloper has shipped in a ringer from the Chicago circuit to his Wyoming turf, Rancher/trainer Clint Travers sets out to put her in her place. Sparks fly immediately, but after their rocky start, the two quickly forge a passionate relationship, and he follows her to Chicago.

When it becomes clear someone is drugging Cassie’s horse, Clint sets out to solve the mystery, but storms off in a cloud of wounded pride when suspicions turn to him.

Can love trump pride?

EXCERPT

Clint has surprised Cassie by bringing the kids with him to Chicago for a visit. That’s not playing fair – does he have any clue how deeply the thought of instant motherhood terrifies her? Even so, she’s more than ready to make up for lost time in the bedroom.

“‘Tis a one track mind you have, Mr. Travers,” she muttered, separating his lips with her tongue. The kiss continued, long and mutual. Cassie loved the feel of his muscled thighs, of his arousal rising against her bottom, of his lips, which tasted equally safe and dangerous.

Breaking the kiss, Clint groaned impatiently, “Enough sleuthing for one day. Do we have time?”

She laughed, framing his chin between finger and thumb. “This is the first time we’ve been alone since you brought the kids to Chicago. There’s time. We’ll make time. Silver Hawk will keep the kids at the house. And dad is probably having a blast telling of some adventure that’s improved by the remembering and by the retelling.”

Clint brushed the back of his fingers across her warming cheek. “It has been so long. How shall we begin?”

He took the lead by running his tongue along her cheekbone and then nuzzling her nape.

“A nice start,” she moaned, clasping her hands behind his back. “Ah, yes, it’s been far too long.”

His tongue eased its way to her ear lobe. She scrunched her toes as Clint tenderly washed her ear, inside and out. At the same time, she became aware of fingers working on her blouse buttons. She helped unbutton the last two as his fingers traced a line over the top of her bra cup. Her skin heated rapidly. In response, she squirmed on his lap, purposefully rubbing her crotch along the expanding length of his shaft. Even through several layers of clothing, she felt his cock pulsing to meet her movements.

EXCERPT

Cassie jumped at the soft rap on the door. “He’s here,” she muttered. She moistened her lips and moved slowly. No need to appear too eager. She opened the door wide and Clint Travers stepped back into her life.

He was as commanding a presence as she remembered. She’d made the correct decision to return. “Hi, are those for me?” She pointed at the yellow roses squeezed in Clint’s hand. “Come in.”

Clint walked into the room and Cassie closed the door behind him. He turned and held the roses out to her. “Yes, they’re for you—sorry.” He grinned and cocked his head to one side. “You’re even more beautiful than I remembered.”

“You clean up pretty good yourself, cowboy. Let me get a glass and set the flowers on the dresser; they are quite stunning.”

“Not nearly as stunning as you.”

“My, you are full of compliments,” Cassie teased, holding her arms out to him in invitation.

He took her in his arms. She tipped her head up to meet his lips. He tasted masculine. She chewed on his lower lip. His hands cupped her rear and pressed her body tight against his. His arousal didn’t surprise. She was as excited as he was. It must have been caused by all the waiting. Cassie chuckled against his mouth. Maybe dinner could wait.

My Sexy Saturday ~ Cassie runs into trouble…

Welcome to another round of My Sexy Saturday, where authors offer seven words, sentences, or paragraphs from their work for your entertainment. Be sure to click on the graphic at the bottom of the page and visit the other participants.

Cassie’s Hope will be available at Amazon/Kindle later this month – watch this space for the release announcement!

Cassie’s hauled her dad’s prize horse from Chicago to Wyoming Downs to give her a win and hopefully return to Chicago with an altitude advantage – but she’s running into trouble, and that trouble is named Clint Travers.

EXCERPT

SETUP

Cassie decided to check out the small-town rodeo for some entertainment – but a couple home-grown boys threatened to rough her up. Naturally Clint arrives to save the day, but she refuses his offer of a ride back to her motel, until…

“You might want to look a little more closely at your transportation, Ms. O’Hanlon,” Clint replied dryly. “It’s not usually a good idea to drive on rims.”

“The dirty bastards!” Cassie shrieked, racing around the pickup. All four tires were flat. Each had been punctured with a sharp object.

“Afraid you can’t prove it was them.”

“Son of a bitch, I can’t believe they did that.” She was reeling. If they could slash her tires…”They invaded my space. They violated me. My God.” Her hand flew to her throat. “What might they have tried if you hadn’t come along?”

Clint shrugged. He looked uncomfortable. “Don’t know,” he drawled. “I’ve seen those boys around, but don’t really know them. I don’t think they were as drunk as they made out to be. Or maybe your toe sobered them up quickly.”

“Oh my God,” Cassie cried. “I’m so prepared in Chicago, and here I thought I was safe for some reason. Thanks,” she said, throwing herself into the security of Clint Travers’ arms.

She trembled. She cried. She clung to him, garnering strength. A shock of energy emanating from her loins raced like a runaway horse through every fiber of her body. She pulled herself up short. Oh no, that was more than comfort; that was raw sexual desire. Hers. She didn’t know about him. Actually, his hardness pressing against her belly allowed for little doubt.

Cassie’s hauled her dad’s prize horse from Chicago to Wyoming Downs to give her a win and hopefully return to Chicago with an altitude advantage – but she’s running into trouble, and that trouble is named Clint Travers.

EXCERPT

Cassie guided a wheelbarrow loaded with straw and manure toward the dump pile. What would her Chicago friends say if they could see her now? She laughed out loud.

“Must’ve found your sense of humor.”

“That damn voice,” Cassie muttered, taking her time to empty the wheelbarrow before turning to face the man.

“Thought you might like to hear the latest scuttlebutt.”

“I doubt that very much.” Cassie folded her arms and awaited whatever news the stable crier had to offer. Too bad he didn’t look ugly to match his disposition.

“Sounds like one of the other barns based here is shipping in a California horse for your race. The horse ran fairly well at Golden Gate—we may yet see a horse race come Sunday.”

That news certainly popped her reverie, but she wasn’t going to let Mr. Travers know. Her lips thinned and then she brightened. “Good. I’m not the only one shipping in from out of state. And it will make Hope’s victory more meaningful.”

My Sexy Saturday ~ Cassie’s Hope #MSSWeek18

Welcome to another round of My Sexy Saturday, where authors offer seven words, sentences, or paragraphs from their work for your entertainment. Be sure to click on the graphic at the bottom of the page and visit the other participants.

Cassie’s hauled her dad’s prize horse from Chicago to Wyoming Downs to give her a win and hopefully return to Chicago with an altitude advantage – but she’s running into trouble, and that trouble is named Clint Travers. Here are today’s seven paragraphs, just after their second highly charged interaction.

EXCERPT

Clint eased into his truck to head toward his motel. He would be eating alone again and then going over pedigrees or reading a novel. There were those connected with the track who partied hard every night. He wasn’t one of them. Apparently neither was the redhead.

What would she have done if he’d invited her to dinner? He pressed his lips together tightly. No doubt she would have given him a tongue lashing. Damn, she was a hard woman to get close to.

She had piqued his curiosity. It certainly was unusual to see a woman haul a horse halfway across the country to race. And a damn pretty woman at that. She had to have a lot of guts. He’d give her that.

He was looking forward to the big race. And he was looking forward to seeing how the big city tigress would handle victory or defeat.

He turned his truck toward Evanston. What would she do if he showed up at the café next to her motel around dinner time? It hadn’t been difficult to obtain that information from a secretary in the track office; they needed to know where folks stayed in town in case there was an emergency at the track.

He’d stay away from her, though he liked the way she blushed every time she got her dander up. Which seemed quite often.

Would she have as much fire in bed?

BLURB

My Sexy Saturday ~ Cassie’s Hope

Welcome to another round of My Sexy Saturday, where authors offer seven words, sentences, or paragraphs from their work for your entertainment. Be sure to click on the graphic at the bottom of the page and visit the other participants.

Cassie’s Hope

Time to switch gears – our next indie release, scheduled for October 15, will take us back to our roots, in romantic suspense. We’re launching Riders Up, a series set in the horse racing industry, with the release of Book One: Cassie’s Hope.

If you’ve been cruising e-books for a while, you may have run into two of the books from this series, published under our other pen name, Amanda Burns, a few years back. Our rights have been returned to us, and we’re thrilled to be finally able to let readers in on the story that got it all started, which we’ve scrubbed and polished from our novice first-time-writer efforts and turned into a compelling story that won fourth place at the Romance Junkies writing contest last fall.

Don’t worry, we’re not letting up at all on the steamy erotic scenes we’re known for – we’re just paying some much-needed attention to the two part of our byline, Erotic Romance for Two, Three, or More.

Here are seven paragraphs from their fiery first meeting:

EXCERPT

Shaking her head, Cassie grabbed a hoof pick from her back pocket, lifted one of Hope’s front hooves and began extracting dirt and pebbles.

“Nice lookin’ filly.”

Cassie groaned at the strange deep voice and the too-familiar line. Couldn’t men anywhere be a little more original?

Dropping the hoof, Cassie glanced across Hope’s back and gasped. The deeply tanned hunk behind the voice had shoulders that stretched taut a pale yellow polo shirt covered, in part, with a thin buckskin vest. The wide cowboy buckle appeared unnecessary to hold up well contoured Levi’s. A sweat-stained brown Stetson, tipped low, cast a light shadow across his facial features. His worn boots were those of a working man. This was no drugstore cowboy.

He stepped closer. She could make out a scowl. Dark eyes snapped a foreboding anger. Raven black hair framed chiseled features, searing them into Cassie’s brain. Her toes curled involuntarily. She rubbed Hope’s coat vigorously. Who the hell was he? And to top it off, he didn’t even seem to notice her. His eyes appraised only the horse.

“Thanks,” she mumbled, ducking down by Hope’s flank.

The handsome stranger walked around the horse. “Very nice,” he drawled at last.

My Sexy Saturday ~ Ménage, perhaps?

Welcome to another round of My Sexy Saturday, where authors offer seven words, sentences, or paragraphs from their work for your entertainment. Be sure to click on the graphic at the bottom of the page and visit the other participants.

The Reunion will be *FREE* at Amazon for five days starting tomorrow!

Here are seven paragraphs of a conversation between Maria and Sarah, the morning after last week’s voyeurism snippet.

EXCERPT

“You’re the first woman Adam has been with since he and I got together,” Maria said.

“And you’re not jealous?” Sarah squeaked.

Maria shrugged her shoulders. “Why should I be? I’ve not been with another man since I started up with Adam.” Maria knelt on the floor. Sarah didn’t flinch away from Maria’s hand resting on her bare knee. “But I do take other women to my bed from time to time. And occasionally Adam joins us.”

The air in Sara’s lungs whooshed out. “Oh.” She covered her mouth. “Oh.”

“But you must be something very special,” Maria said, squeezing her knee and removing her hand.

“Why do you say that?” Sarah managed to whisper.

“Because Adam is letting you stay here in the house.”

BLURB

Dark and brooding, Adam Granger was always the bad boy out of reach—but now he’s in Sarah Atkinson’s bed, the morning after their twentieth high school reunion. When Adam beats a retreat to his Pacific Palisades estate, former good girl Sarah throws caution to the wind and pursues him.

Petite copper-skinned Maria Ramirez greets Sarah at Adam’s front door. The former exotic dancer doesn’t challenge Sarah’s assumption she’s the maid—how long will it take the dark-haired beauty to figure out Maria is Adam’s live-in lover? Better yet, how long before Maria can entice her into their bed?

Determined not to rock his hard-won lifestyle, Adam resolves to push Sarah past her sexual limits so she’ll leave. When she stays, he watches helplessly as the two women fall in love with each other. Will they shut him out? And, if they let him in, what must he sacrifice?
